Forums - Sales - Bold Prediction: Modnation Racer will be the best seller new IP this year.

i think Heavy Rain has set a bar high.. With 1 million in 5 weeks. HR is definitely going on to sell 2m+, as its going to get a Move support also at the end of the year.. So this definitely is not going to be an easy task..
But it has potential if all the issues of beta are resolved and Move support is added and is provided with a solid marketing n get good words of mouth.. But the good thing is that it is coming out at relatively a less bz release schedule for PS3.. so it wont be having much competition for the PS3 owner's money.. so if it gets a good start n good word of mouth than it definitely has a bigger audience out there to be interested in..

Some Nintendo Vitality sensor game will be the best selling new I.P.

Tease.

LOL

Yeah and GT5 will sell 25 million...

Looks like a great game, with a strong chance of selling 1-2 million but probably not too much more. Would love to see 3million+ though. It really depends on how Sony market it down under. LBP had decent marketing, just about the most t.v. ad's I have seen for a PS3 exclusive and they were very quite entertaining.

Hopefully around its release and after we aren`t bombarded with threads comparing it to Mario Kart Wii reviews and sales. If you like that sort of game and you own a PS3 and Wii you would at least try both.

From what i have seen the game looks fun, it will depend how addictive the mp is. I'd say it has a chance, but it's going to have to be good. I see no reason why it won't outsell lbp.. lbp was meh personally

I highly doubt that. I think Alan Wake and Heavy Rain have better chances than Modnation Racers.

But I think the best selling IPs this year are going to be either a Wii vitality game just like Squilliam said, or Agent (lots of skeptisims though)

I'm going to say that the Vitality Sensor game is going to whip this one in sales.

Depends on how you define new IP. Wii Vitality should handily outpace anything, but that depends on exactly what the Vitality Sensor is bundled with (if it's a Wii _____ game), and how well it does.

Presuming VS is a Wii _____ game, i think this is right. We could reasonably assume it'll match LBP at least, and that should handily out-do anything Heavy Rain or Alan Wake should be capable of, and aside from those 4 i can't really think of any other big-name New IPs that will come out this year.
