It would be good, but those sales of NSMB Wii can't be real. They were at 35.000 last week.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Also, on NSMBWii, it's just outsold Mario World! Another 250k and it'll have outsold Mario 3. Another 600k and it'll have outsold Mario Land, and sit as the 3rd best selling Mario game in history (only behind NSMB and SMB1).

Won't it outsell Dragon Quest VII before Mario Land, making it the best-selling console title in 25 years?

Yep.  If it hits that benchmark it means it'll have outsold every Super Famicom, PlayStation and PlayStation 2 game ever made.  And the only Famicom game to sell more would be SMB1.

The only console games still ahead of it are (using shipments to keep it consistent, these shipments also include rereleases)...

  1. [FC] Super Mario Bros. (Nintendo) 6.81m
  2. [PS] Dragon Quest VII (Enix) 4.14m
  3. [PS] Final Fantasy VII (Square) 4m
  4. [FC] Super Mario Bros. 3 (Nintendo) 3.84m
  5. [SFC] Super Mario Kart (Nintendo) 3.82m
  6. [FC] Dragon Quest III (Enix) 3.77m
  7. [PS2] Dragon Quest VIII (Square Enix) 3.68m
  8. [Wii] Wii Sports (Nintendo) 3.67m
  9. [PS] Final Fantasy VIII (Square) 3.64m
  10. [Wii] Wii Fit (Nintendo) 3.61m

...it should make number 2 easily imo.  Hell, it may even hit 5m!

It has a shot at passing 5m rather easily honestly. Even with a smaller base in Japan, NSMB Wii is completely pulverizing the pace of NSMB DS - it could end up with a nearly 40% attach rate in Japan...and Wii is getting to at least 12m no matter what.

~3.6m/10.1m is really good considering the sw sales of NSMB Wii still are larger than Wii sales in Japan.

It would take a long time to hit that still, wouldn't it? I mean.... it owuld have to sustain this week's pace for another thirty weeks straight.

All markets could start seeing PS3 supply contraints if this keeps up.
