I watch Freeview and BBC iPlayer through the web browser, so its perfect for me!

Stop using Firefox as a crutch. The Wii's browser is better than the PS3's.

  The Wii browser would be better if it didn't have such awful resolution.  If the PS3 could get an opera browser too at 1080p that would be great.

  I still prefer the PS3 browser vs the Wii though until that happens, almost entirely because of the resolution issue.  I can see more of a website on my iphone then on my Wii.

I'll give u the resolution bit, but its still sad that the PS3 browser isn't way above it.

That seems like an annoyance.  Its much easier to just load up the web page up on a laptop or a computer thats nearby, that way you don't have to exit the game.

In my case I have my desktop right next to my 360 so if i get stuck or just want to listen to music while I play Halo 3, I can without any trouble.

There are some people that dont have a PC in the same room as the PS3.

 

Now, I think that if SONY wants to have a Web Browser in ther PS3, it should be good. Being Honestly, its not a good browser. Yes, you can still do a lot of things, but its just not a good experience as if should be.

 

Why isit that Sony have this mediocre Browser. I would think, that in a PS3, it should be at least Excellent.

Why's this Microsoft's decision to make? that surfing the internet on a TV is a poor experience? the more the capability is there, the more likely that internet websites will redesign their pages to work on TV.

Just look at Youtube, they've redesigned the the website so that there is greater functionality when using it on a TV, it's pretty good for PS3. same with things like BBC iplayer.

I actually quite like the PS3 browser. it's not as user friendly as a PC browser, but its great for simple surfing while sitting in your couch, in your living room. Especially when using a USB/Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

but my ps3 is downstairs in living room pc is upstairs in pc room, if im to only do basic browsing, on gamefaqs, checking youtube posting on vgchartz, the ps3 browser however crap its ideal, better to have it than not.

This is it for me, i have a laptop but it's only tiny, my PS3 is usually on all the time from watching TV or something and the PC is in a different room. Being able to skip to the web browser and go through my bookmarked pages to check my favourite websites is really easy. i check vgchartz using it all the time.

Even better, is that i can watch South Park on AllSP.com on my massive 40 inch TV from the comfort from my sofa.

I'd have to agree, PS3 browser is far far from perfect, but its good at what i use it for and if it's a choice about having it or not, i know where i'm sitting - in front of my TV watching All SP through my PS3.

It's better to not include something that is a half assed shitty experience when the only thing it can do is hurt your image. Normal people who value their time would just jump on a PC to surf the web anyways.

No....because he obviously doesn't have one and is making up that BS by saying "I could drive to a library and use internet faster". That's completely untrue. There may be "better options" in his mind, but he doesn't have to state a blatant lie about what he doesn't like, all the while propping up what he does like. THAT makes him a biased fanboy.....while you're trying to pull the "inb4" route and say the "different opinion = fanboy" sarcasm
