Don't know if this has been posted yet but,

Has Rock Band been selling out at your local retailers?  And for what system?  I was reading Joystiq and it was saying that most store have not sold out of the game on the 360 version but have on the PS3 version.  I wanted to know if they had just shipped less units of PS3 than 360 or the same? 

My take on it is that Guitar Hero is much easier to buy, obviously because of the price, and because of the fact that to play it at it's funnest you don't need four people...

 Your thoughts?

Rock Band will not flop but it will not see insane numbers.

I think it would of been done best on Wii, imagine banging the Wii mote on drums and hearing the sound come from the remote, seeing as most drums arn't amplified, unlike Electric Guitars etc etc.

The Wii version wouldn't be any better as the game would probably use the same peripherals. It would just have worse online.

OK sorry, DMeisterJ; Rock Band isn't released in EU yet, so I can't see market trends. I predict sales of 200k-250k across both platforms and Xbox360 selling 125k while PS3 around 75k.

Most likely the PS3 version sold out, cause of limited stock. Activision would shipped more units of 360 compared to the PS3 version.
Rock Band for Wii is a certainty and should be a updated PS2 port. Harmonix might wait for an Early summer and use the extra time to adapt it better for Wii controls.

I do think more 360 versions were shipped vs. the PS3 version due to insane attach rates on the 360. I know a lot of places have them in stock, but they aren't out on shelves because it's too huge! However, a lot of retailers I have spoken with or peeps have said they expect to be sold out on Black Friday.
