“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

I bet the same people that support Sony to fight against piracy also cried foul when Ubisoft/EA made single player have permanent internet connection permanent.

Then again, all these probably just be a bad April Fool's.

That was before some guy publicly announced that he could hack the PS3 GameOS by going through OtherOS.

Be realistic guys.

This really should have been the end of the thread right here, but apparently some of you have trouble being realistic about these kinds of promises and instead want Sony to allow their console to be hackable just to keep the word of what one of their employees said.

They've seen what can happen to an easily hacked platform with the PSP, they'd have to be idiots to let it happen again just so that they can keep a bunch of ornery people on the internet happy.

If you really feel the need to bitch at someone go right ahead and find the email address of the hacker.

...

Being a former rabid Nintendo fanboy, seeing those who are bashing SONY for this are either just simply misinformed or just sick in the head. There is no point trying to reason with you folks because you put your blind hatred of a company/console over the love of gaming. So I'm just going to outright say that you are NOT gamers since your love for hate brings you more joy than gaming itself. Console gaming has been given a bad rap on various fronts. Those of you finding excuses to "stick it" to SONY for protecting their IP which in turn helps ALL developers which in turn benefits ALL gamers is not helping the image of gaming. Do all of us gamers a favor: GO FINE A NEW HOBBY! Go help ruin something else. We don't need you.

Hackers are poor nerds who don't wash.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Just remind yourself that it's for a noble cause.

And honestly, why do people even care that you can install Linux on your PS3? It was always kind of a superfluous feature anyways.
