Forums - Nintendo - Started Final Fantasy The Crystal Bearers. Have you played it yet?

Meh at best. Wish I hadn't paid $50 for it but I feel that a lot with a bunch of my purchases in 2009 haha. Why I'm being more careful in 2010.

But I think most of the reviews were correct for this game. Just an average game at best. But I did enjoy my 2 playthroughs with it. Like most other Japanese games I've played, cute in about every way possible. Cute is good haha.

It's an average game, but one of the top games on graphics and production for the wii. The telekinesis gimmick i wasn't too fond off, but the story and characters i liked. The game is worth $19.99 or less. Glad you're enjoyin in. I had fun for the first 2 hours, because things move really fast, but then the gameplay just sucks (point + hold button + waggle up or left) repeat

I want to pick it up but 50 dollars is a bit too much for me right now.

Seems like you also played cursed mountain. Another of those average reviews.

I played Cursed Mountain, but it was WAY BETTER than what the critics said. Everything worked great, but it was more an atmosphere game than a pure action game, so, since it's not mainstream, I think it got overlooked. In the case of FF Crystal Bearers, I think expectations were so High that Square Enix couldn't deliver. But, so far, I like it.

I am having a GREAT TIME playing this wonderful game. There is always something new coming along. Super imaginative and very beautiful. Yes the map sucks, but the gameplay is top notch. I enjoy the different environments and mini-games. The whole beach sequence was pretty funny. And the one sneaking around in the train was great!

I am now four hours into it and not one complaint yet. I shall see...

I actually am having a lot of fun with it. I wasn't aware of the poor reviews until now actually, and am rather surprised. The world is really cool, and I love the art style. It's a place I like exploring around, and while not as realistic or detailed as FF13, is a lot prettier in a good number of places (at least in cocoon, where most of pretty stuff is off in the distance there is another location in FF13 which is very organic and beautiful). One thing I liked about this game was the Camera, and FF13 didn't have that (and I wanted it).

The battle system isn't really as bad as the comments here are saying. I did like the force type stuff, but I would have preferred more diversity in the battle system; and turn based rather than action.

Anyway, if you play the game and try not to be a critic (ie. someone who makes sure the game is exactly in the style that all good Final Fantasy titles should be) then you'll really enjoy it, it has a lot of strong points which I bet these reviews do not take into account at all.

The map in the game is not helpful at all, but it is one of those games where you can get really used to the world very quickly and don't really need a map. Still, that is one feature left out that really confused me.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

i was thinking(i got cb and im beating FFXIII which isnt really that great by far neither), that if square would have used the CB engine into a wii version of FFXIII it would have worked wonders and net them more profit in the end.

I am pumped. Seven hours into this amazing game and not one dull moment yet. I am now getting pretty good in the fights and I am taking the time to know the environment. I got lost a couple of times, but no big deal. I just don't understand why people keep bumping me when I get into the Capitale. Weird... Go Square Enix!!!

One last thing, I realized that about 80 to 90% of the people who bought this game and have posted their impressions think it's a good, not great game. The player comments will now help me decide if a game is worth it or not. Or, I'll go on instincts...

I didn't get it =/ I wanted to.

1. No replay
2. No depth
3. Short
4. No Multiplayer

The multiplayer killed it for me =/

I'm Unamerica and you can too.
