I don't think so. The Wii's storage problem is solved with the SD cards.

For them to be realistically used, they'd have to be disc based. Storage would be too much of a problem for most Wii owners, and if there isn't a big uptake there's no point in the company doing it.
The free Monster Hunter Tri demo at Gamestop is a good idea for bigger Wii games to follow in the future.
A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.
Nintendo could maybe start including demo discs with Nintendo Power or something ismilar, but I don't know how expensive that would be.
Have you considered rentals?
@ Samus Aran
No I do not. 3 of my 4 current Wii games are from Nintendo, and the only one that has really entertained me is the one that isn't from Nintendo. Go figure.
@ Demotruk
I think discbased is the best solution as well, as long as there is just some way of getting them. Right now I'd settle for any solution really...
@ Khuutra
Nah, I'm not a rental guy. I very much prefer to own my games, and I don't like the pressure of needing to complete a game before I need to turn it in (we don't have a GameFly system here).

Well you don't need to beat it by any means. It's a trial period, especially for bigger games - if you could beat something like Super Mario Galaxy in a rental period, you are well and truly in need of less free time.

True, that could work for expensive games at least. I might look into that!

Well, you didn't buy any of their main games besides metroid prime trilogy. So why complain? Wii sports was free and if you don't like that one you shouldn't have bought wii sports resort.
Red steel 2 had the help of retro studios by the way. Go figure.
That said, I would like demo's on the wii.
Ps: like I said, you have some high gaming standards if you didn't like metroid prime trilogy.
I agree, there are plenty of Wii games that I regret getting
