I know what feeling darth is talking about that I've had it so many times

The Entire MGS Series especially MGS4. I felt that big time during MGS4
Final Fantasy VII, VIII and X
Uncharted 2
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
God of War II
There are more but I can't think of them all right now.

And I know I'll get this feeling when I finished Final Fantasy XIII, Heavy Rain and God of War III.

The worst thing bout MGS4 is that you knew it was gonna be the last proper one!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

FF13 has this empty feeling in the end that it makes think the experience is over and there 's no need for the game 's sidequests i wonder what i will think of ff13 after 6 months

Yeh of course but then again, it was the best fitting ending ever for the best ever game for me so the impact was big.

It happens to me too with the games I like most. I try to get the most of them exploring completely the levels, doing all the sub-quests/missions, finding every secret, but when the end comes I immediately start missing the game. And usually I don't replay them, I did it with Diablo (once as warrior, twice as mage, once as rogue) and Quake II, they were my first two big games on my first PC, after them I played twice Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries, Hexen (1st as cleric, 2nd as mage) and A-10 Cuba, but usually when I have time I play games I haven't played before.

yes, sometimes, I felt so empty after finishing smg

I don't know about you guys but I feel that way when I finish playing a crappy game, like why did I play that game, maybe its the bodies defensive mechanism against crappy games, hey darth maybe that's why you felt that way after playing FFXIII just kidding

I honestly never felt empty cause of a game, I never get that invested into a game that effects how my body feels, but if you guys want to feel some real feelings go play the mother series lol but it won't leave you feeling empty more like satisfied with it and the world.

Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts 2, Paper Mario, Star Wars: Kotor, Halo 1 and 3, and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga are the ones that did that to me. Either they were really long, rewarding games (Mario & Luigi), they had engaging stories (KH), or they just had a completely epic finale (the Halos).

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I got the feeling after playing Oblivion, gave up 200 hours of my life and then it was over, that sent me on a frenzy to look for a similar game (Fable 2) and nothing could satisfy me.

Also got the feeling at the end of Bioshock 1 + 2, MGS4 and Pokemon Gold.

The 'empty feeling' is much worse with book's though, you read a series for ten years and it just end's, with no hope of a next installment (Harry Potter, Darren Shan).

Yeah, I get a similar feeling, not so empty as just a kind of serious longing for more, for books too. But there could be more to the series, but I just want more right away.

OT: Never. Very few games have truly gripped me emotionally, and those that have leave me satisfied at the end, not empty.
