I thought I would bump this thread because after reading some of the positive reviews I decided to preorder the game and get the demo. It is my first experience with a Monster Hunter title and I'm really enjoying it. The two things I was concerned about were the controls and loadings screens and they haven't really been an issue, and I'm now really excited for the full game next week.

This is actually a nice trick in monster hunter. If your having a hard time with a monster then Great Swords and Hammers may be the trick for you or anything with crazy power.

The trick in this video is not a game breaker, bascially your weapon has a durability gauge, Purple, White, Gold, Green, Orange, Red.  One your weapon hits Green your attack has a chance to be repelled by monsters with thick hides. What you do is your keep attacking with the same combo, usually one that pushes you into the target. The Repelling animation cuts down on the cool down of the attacks which allows for a near spamming of attacks.

The cost is that your durability takes a hit, which means your doing less damage, but you attack much faster as your not cooling down for as long.

This works very well for chopping off stubborn tails.

Hmm IGN (America) has no qualms handing out 9.0 + like hotcakes, but when it comes to this Wii exclusive, they feel 8.8 is just.

(And yes, it is being nitpicky, but seriously, why not a solid 9.0? Splinter Cell Conviction can get a 9.3 and it's very formulaic.)

Go figure.

On an aside, is this thread going to be dedicated to exchanging friend codes for online quests, or is someone else going to initiate that?

Well I saw a trailer for it during shameless on chanel 4, Which is fairly mainstream marketing(I think the current series of shameless averages about 3 million veiwers) So we might see some decent sales in the uk.

Err... isn't the online for MH3 supposed to be without Friend Codes?

Also yes, I working on how to get it done, however I left with a wait and see approach a few ideas for how to get that kind of online hub working in this thread are floating around though.

Yes, the game has Capcom codes, but you don't need them if your just playing with randoms, you can also friend people without them in the game.

The Lobby style is similar to that of Diablo 2.
