dahuman, that's nice and all, but it's useless if there's one guy who dies three times (not Chrizum, some stranger). If not everyone knows what to do it's a hopeless endeavor, because people die quickly.

Now some questions:

1) What are Los weapons?
2) Why is Rathalos so unfair?
3) Barioth and Diablos were unfair too, but I already beat them. Yes, that's not a question.

And it really, really sucks that it is so hard to find good people online in the PAL region. Today it was so bad that I've changed my mind about Chrizum. He's actually one of the most competent people I played with.

They need to be told what to do then, nobody gets everything the first time, I did it with some people that I would usually play with and I used the dragonator for funzy out of the blue so we missed the kill but repel was still no problem. =P

1.) Fire based weapons made from mainly Rathalos parts, people just call him Los because it's either Ian(Rathian, the female,) or, Los.

2.) He's one of the easier bosses once you know his patterns, just need to know when he will do big damage attacks, and it's only really unfair when you get to the Urgent of killing Los and Ian at the same time, even then the resolution is just dung bombs, it's a pain in the ass fighting both in one area.

3.) It's unfair to them maybe, drop a few traps and sonic bombs, flash bombs here and there, and they just die. Pretty much the same with Los, see it in the air, just toss a flash in his face or knock him down from the sky. You are going to love the HR50 uncap fight if you think it's unfair now lol.

I had an interesting run in the game today.

1) Catching Quropecco was far easier than killing him, but it helped that i did the Quropecco run another 3 times online last night. Hardest part was him summoning, whatever the hell he summoned (giant winged thing that breathed fire and was waaaay out of my league atm). I think he was easier to catch than Jaggi, at least in terms of knowing *when* to catch him, as his limp is much more pronounced.

2) I am utterly and completely lost on the hunt herbivore eggs quest. I need someone to spoon-feed me exactly how to do it, because i must be doing everything i can wrong. Noname said the eggs were invisible, but if they are i still can't find them, unless they're just hidden at utterly random intervals. I checked near the tree, i checked near every tree. I have no idea at all what i'm doing there.

3) Giving up on that in frustration, i tried Royal Ludroth, who isn't all that hard to adapt to on Land, though i got my ass handed to me in the water. On Land the only real way to do it is to hit him head on, otherwise he'll just roll over you. Lance and my auto-guard skill made that doable, to just sort of tank my way through it. It seemed to me that his blind side underwater might be above his head, but i'll have to make sure.

peco summons fucking deviljo in the higher rank quests online, annoying as hell.

eggs are in the south area near the tree.

attack from below is all i can say, same way with lagi eventually, or ceadeus.

Below is where his arms are, though. I'll give it a try, though.

By South do you mean Area 7? It's areas 2, 3, and 4 i've searched thoroughly, and i ruled out 7 because it's blocked off, but maybe just from that direction.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Need some tips on killing a Barroth. Ive only tried him once, but that single time i was mercilessly raped. I tried to get the tail, but hes so tall that only the slow ax part of my switch axe could reach it, and of course that never landed.

Yeah, it's in area 7. That route is blocked off I believe because it's the shortest way back to the camp when you're carrying the eggs. Now that you know where they are, unfortunately it won't make it any easier. I gave up after a dozen consecutive failures on that damn quest, just left it and moved on. As far as I know it's not necessary to complete it, unless it unlocks other quests that I'm unaware of.

Offline Barioth with Fire LS=5-10minutes kills, basically, the trick is to run towards him instead of running away at the right angles and you pretty much won't get hit by his charges ever. Basically, he's easy if you farm Los weapons in general.

Fully granted, but when you're just getting used to him avoiding those charges is probably the easiest part (I literally stood still a few times and he pounced right past me! ).  Good call on the fire part though: I usually just stick with my paralysis weapon, as I'm too lazy to switch for individual monsters, but if you're having trouble the extra damage certainly couldn't hurt.

Yep, it's Area 7. Try entering from the north (areas 5 or 6).

Ignore the tail and concentrate on the flank instead.  Keep your back to a wall so he doesn't charge past you, then nail him on the side a few times (ignore the head for now: I don't think your current weapon is sharp enough to penetrate that armor).  You could also aim for the legs, as he trips fairly easily.  You can attack that tail when he's down.

When he's about to slam his head into the ground, roll towards his flank and do a quick counter, then leave.  When he starts shaking, either keep your distance or position yourself directly underneath him (finding the right spot is tricky, so stay away for now).

Equip a water weapon if you have one ()

When he runs away, don't immediately pursue, as he might just be preparing to charge rather than actually retreating.  Also don't get suckered into attacking when he's rolling in the mud, as he can still hit you that way (although you can take pokes at the tail!)  I believe when he does his spinning-tail attack, it's always towards his left, so stay on his right flank whenever possible.

He's got a limited move-set, so just recognize what his movements mean and you should be good.  Also, don't be afraid to leave the zone when you take your potions: drinking them when he's around is an invitation to get mowed down.

So I should use items... that sucks. But I guess that's how Monster Hunter should be played.

Anyway, I beat Rathalos without traps, bombs etc. and I defeated Uragaan as well (on first try).

I tried Ceadeus, but didn't know what exactly I was supposed to do in the third area. I hope that if I get past this urgent quest, then I have access to the next type of ore. I want a better weapon.

You don't have to use items, it just takes much longer unless you are good with a LS or SA then it should be 20 some minutes then gets shorter as you get more geared.

figure out the dragonator hit box and hit him with it, grab the ballista ammo, shoot his horns until they break(2 carves) and then just keep shooting, then after both crates are out, start hitting it with your weapon until dragnator is up again, it's a 2 parter at your current gear, one is repel, then 2nd time his damage carries over and you kill him and carve him. I just kill him at the 25-28 minute mark straight up now with online gear, his parts are good money and the reward money is 14k per run. just make sure you keep the elder dragon blood if you get any.

break whatever mud you can and just cap him, got 2 tails in one cap without ever breaking his tails off. or just play online, tails are guaranteed to come off with 4 people who are able to kill him. oh and always aim for the right side to dodge when he charges you, always.

Finly getting to online play HR is a pain in the ass why did they do it that way!? Any way wow i must say i am runing into ppl who just attk with comple disregard who arone them lol. The palized sword helping a lot. I need to play with you guys one of these days.

Add me if you wish but PM me if you do.

Finally, a new page on the wiki showing the armor skill points (I think it's new, I would have seen it otherwise).

Time to plan out my sets!
