What do you mean? You can't permanently raise HP (only semi-permanently with the right armor equipped, i think), it can only be raised temporarily (to be reset at the end of mission or your death, whichever comes first)

But nevermind, I have another question.... when I was about to hit hr9, and gain missions level 2, I was 190 points away, and I killed in a mission both a curupecu and a royal ludroth, but when I finish it say I'm not eligible... whY?

Think it's because you have to finish the urgent quest

Yea i was pretty pissed as well.

Think when u reach hr8, the urgent quest comes up, and can't progress to 9 until u complete it..

It's a Barroth i believe

The strategy i learned against Barroth i've tried to apply to every single monster since, with mixed results. The point being that the best strategy against him is blocking, as he moves fast and hits hard, but if you have a weapon-type that can block, his attacks can not only be blocked, but then he'll be right next to you and wide open.

I do that with most of the monsters..... with my sword and shield, maybe that's why I fail in the arena... there is not that combo

a question: could you defeat that guy from the first event quest? he's hard......

I can defend from him, but I always run out of time, even at a team of 4 with many over hr 30...

I don't remeber, the first one currently, the one where you're at the boat and you have to repel the gigant monster

Jhen Mohran? I thought you had to be at least HR 18 to do the event quest version of that?

 

He's not hard to kill, but it very much relies on having a great team. You should have at least two guys with strong Ice or Dragon melee weapons (preferably Long Sword, Great Sword, or Hammer) who can get his legs and belly in the second phase, and the rest is just a matter of keeping things in order. Someone should be on the cannon constantly, only really bother with the ballista to get rid of its horns, know when to use the ballista binder, and get your dragonator timing down perfectly.

The quest for him to get to high rank is easier.

Btw when do I use sonic bombs on him? As soon as he goes completely under or what? Sometimes it doesn't work when I throw it as he's digging. Also how do I tell if he's in rage mode? Constant dig?


I always thought it was the black breath that indicated rage (since i've been able to bomb him after a scream, so scream doesn't equal rage like it does with some monsters), though i'm not the person to ask for help on Diablos. Right after he digs is best, though i think it'll work whenever he's underground, as long as you throw it near where he is.
