I know. Still, I'd like to know about the PSP... I'm sure it could do 3D in some way, but... has there already been a game that did? I mean apart from that awkward Metal Gear contraption-thingy? I know about the iPhone's 3D. No flaming intended, I'm genuinely curious.

if a game has use of an accelerometer it can be done. It's not really true 3d, but it's programmed to display 3d. There is a slight difference, but I think all of them are 3d capable.

It is strange though why Nintendo would go so far as to call it the 3DS (LADYLOO), because that sort of implies that the basis for the system is 3d...but the accelerometer based 3d is kind of a trick 3d. It's possible that they may do the dual-layered screen 3d tech that have been suggested.

Ah yes, well, I knew that, I was just wondering if any such game existed for PSP.

And yeah, I suppose we'll have to wait and see just what the 3D for 3DS will be like. The fact of the matter is that right now, no-one outside of Nintendo (and perhaps some 3rd party devs) knows anything about it, besides what's been officially stated. All the rest is just rumours and speculation.

I think the 3D you're talking about won't be the same as the 3D of the new DS...

And I believe microsoft already got into the market of handheld gaming with zune HD...

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

I don't think Pachter really based the 3DS either, he just stated that it needed more than 3D and that he didn't know what to think without any extra details.

Sony are the kind of company who'd insult their own mother if she released a competing product. No change there whether a 3DS is released or not.

Actually I am quite certain MS is bashing Nintendo a lot, you and I are just unable to pinpoint it at MS. I think it's called virals (though I may have gioten my terms mixed) - people who are payed to post negative comments about the competition, so you can appear to be squeaky clean yourself...

So, you believe that Microsoft is risking their reputation on trying to pay people to bash Nintendo on the internet? This sounds like more a conspiracy theory than anything else. Besides they would be more interested in paying people to talk crap about the PS3/Sony than they are about the Wii.

Prices of screens don't grow linearly with the size. Hitachi already uses PBLCD screens on one of their phones. Sharp and Nintendo have a good relationship and history of partnerships. Hitachi has a 3d phone with the same tech that has a 3.1 in screen. It was available last year for 200 in Japan. So I don't think cost is a factor.
