japan preview is low on PS3 as usual

the source should use a middle point between japan preview an zorrox predictions xD

When i have some time I'll need to compare guesses from prediction league and japan preview accuracy could have funny results :D

How much did GOW Collection do ? It bombed :(

I wouldn't say it bombed anymore then i'd say a horse racing simulator would bomb in the west if it didn't chart.  God of War is pretty much the epitome of the "Stupid western game" in the Japanese consumers mind.  I mean, check out the numbers for the GOW games in Japan in general.  They're lucky to chart here.

Very impressive for Torne considering it sold out in it's first 12 hours. I'm very interested in seeing what sort of long term bump it gives to HW.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

That was just the first shipment (which was 30,000), so it must have gotten a second during the week.

- Figures provided by ASCII Media Works/Dengeki

Torne sold 62,000 units during its first week. The standalone accounted for 75% of sales, while the digi recorder pack took up the remaining 25%. PS3 hardware sales increased 69.5% from the previous week to 45,000 units.

Woah, excellent hardware sales!  PS3 may actually be ahead of DS and PSP even this week!

Also, given the bundled Torne sales (~15,500) it's looks like it's basically entirely responsible for PS3's hardware boost... Y4 did almost nothing. :/

Nice entry for Y4... surpassed Y3's first week.

Hopefully Sega will bring it to us next year.

After the Yakuza 3 debacle, I'm not sure if it's even worth it?

Regardless of cut content, it's still a good game.

I haven't played it, but from the sounds of it the cut content actually horribly unbalances it.  It really is a hackjob localization.

Also, there's rumors that another company was originally going to localize Y3 (most point to Atlus or Ignition) but SOA took it over last second and rushed it to make the fiscal year.  To be honest, I think RGG would do better here out of Sega's hands...

From my knowledge, from actually playing it. The only cut content revolves around sexual content (surprisingly strip joints still exist). And they effect the story in no way, so what if hostess is gone. Substories has been reduced from 103 to 100 (again same reason as above). Two minigames have been taken out, and I can't think of anything else.

Yeah, I'd heard about the incest submission being taken out.  Massage parlours probably fall under that too.  Still, I don't think you can really take Sega's word on the reason, and the substory/mission reduction is far greater than just 3 cuts (it went from 123 to 101). From HG101...

But basically some of what’s been cut:
- Hostess bars
- Managing a hostess
- Massage parlors
- Mahjong & shogi
- Answer X Answer trivia game

SIDE MISSIONS Chapter 3, 4 I Wanna Go to Tokyo pt. 1
The Brewer's Treasure
Make the No. 1 Cabaret Club Girl!
English Conversation Solicitor step 1
English Conversation Solicitor step 2
Love's Cupid

A Trip Before Marriage

Chapter 5
Manga Artist Debut (Mangaka Debut)
The Runaway Phone Chat Girl (Terekura Iede Musume)
I Wanna Go to Tokyo pt. 2
Great Genius Showdown
Is she talking about me...?
Ayukawa Rina

Chapter 6
A Satisfying Yakuza (Iyashiikei Yakuza - It's worth 10k exp so it's quite annoying).

Oh I never noticed the 123, but most of them are connected to the hostess bar also 101.... I thought it was 100 total, but still it isn't like the completely destroyed the story, and the environment. (Unless you really care about hostess bar, which some people do.)

I believe Mahjong is still in the game, just not trophy anymore. You shouldn't say that because of the cut content they shouldn't bother bringing Yakuza 4 overhere, it is still a good game.

Bu they didn't rebalance the game, just cut.  This means they've automatically upped the mandatory grinding ratio from what I understand.

And I should specifiy, I don;'t think SEGA should bother.  I also think it's a golden opportunity for someone else like Atlus or Ignition...
