Didn't Gran Turismo 5 Prologue had 1 million pre-orders in Europe alone?

lets not assume things like that now, i mean we have no idea how much reach will cost

First week: most likely reach.
Lifetime: easily gran turismo in my eyes. there hasn't been a true gt game since 2004, people are dieing to play it.
Halo will out sell. I'll buy my copy :) Halo is like Mario is to Nintendo.

Dude, Halo does not hold a candle to Mario numbers.
When any Halo game outsells Gran Turismo 3 first, I'll think about that.
Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!
Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

i dont think so, i think gran turismo might be so much bigger in others, that it will take the different in the americas
and what do you mean by the recent sales of pokemon and gow? i dont understand how this is similar to Gt and Reach |
God of War III had more preorders, but Pokemon still had bigger first week sales (well, it's been indicated that they will be higher or at least equal). This is because Pokemon is a more mainstream franchise, and it has more casual gamers who will pick up the game as soon as it comes out, but won't bother to preorder. It's a similar case for Halo and Gran Turismo. Although both are large franchises, and have many casual fans, Halo has the advantage in that respect.
Halo Reach is a win-win (sales-critical reception). GT5 will sell bucketloads too, but where it will outdo Halo Reach is moving hardware. Also, GT5 will be more revolutionary for a racing game than Halo Reach for a FPS. But who's gonna make more profit in the end between developers? definitely Bungie and Microsoft. GT5 is much much bigger, expensive, and took almost 4 years to complete. Halo Reach will recoup R&D costs just with pre-orders, GT5 not so much (although GT5:Prologue helped a lot).

ah, i see what you mean, the demographics play a big role with preorders...well thought..halo might take it after all ^_^ *well in my mind anyways*

Meta critic, GT5, for sales i'm going with reach, but GT5 lifetime will have higher sales.
ODST didn't reach 5 million i doubt reach will 8 months.
Being in 3rd place never felt so good
