At the same analyst meeting, Mr. Iwata said Nintendo has been working on 3-D technology for years, secretly adding a feature into the GameCube, the predecessor to the Nintendo Wii, to display graphics separately for the right and left eye for the possibility of 3-D gaming. It was never introduced as a feature in the GameCube

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

I think I've heard of that before.

It must have been a secret feature that no one knew how to access.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

had it and from what i know it didnt.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

This is probably what also moved them into the wiimote concept. 3D interaction.

Difference is with the TVs on the market, putting it into the Gamecube made no sense. However, with the fact that they control the full experience in the handheld, it makes tons of sense.

yes it did but they never used it

But Sony came out with it, not Nintendo!

Displaying an image twice for theoretical 3D is nothing new; even the NES did that (Rad Racer and Worldrunner anyone?), and the Master System did it much better. What is impressive is 3D without the need for added glasses. This is where it becomes the next level, and it appears, good enough for Nintendo to take advantage of.

I call bullshit. This is Nintendo answering back to sony because now they are scared about 3D which sony has been pushing. "We had this, but of course no one knew..."

Thats like me saying.

I had sex with Amy Lee, she doesn't remember though. She was too drunk.
