= the difference between gears 2 and gears 3?

 

I'm talking about polishness. Mass effect 2 had over 2 years of dev time and if gears 3 comes out spring 2011 it has 2.5 years. Not to mention gears of war games take less time to dev. gears 3 should be so polished its not even funny...what do you think about this?

Gears 3 might actually be running on the next Unreal Engine so we may very well be in store for a visual shock of Epic proportions.

I don't know what you're talking about exactly.

All I can say is GoW 1 and 2 feel very much the same to me.

While Mass Effect 1 and 2 feel very different.

I didn't know Gears or ME came from Poland.

ME2 is more polished but it removes a lot of RPG features and exploration features I loved in the first game.

Overall ME2 is probably a better game but then again you can't freely explore the citidel which was a huge disapointment because that was the best part about the original game in many ways.

A HUGE letdown for me. The sequel is definitely more enjoyable, but that kept it from totally winning over the original 100%.

As for Gears 3, yeah, if it's running on the new engine, I expect a massive technical upgrade.

I echo that.  The same thing happened with KotOR 2 (although it was developed by Obsidian).  Less expansive environments in some cases, more confined.  I really liked many of the changes in ME2 and it was overall a better game, but I didn't like some of the environmental changes.

I give that post a 9.7.

I actually thought Gears 1 looked better than Gears 2... Gears 2 got a cartoony look to it so if gears 3 went back to the gears 1 style of graphics it would already look better.

I don't know if that will be the case for Gears 3. ME1 was a very unpolished game with a lot of technical issues. I haven't played Gears 2 but from what I've heard it's pretty a solid as far as technical things go.

As far as gameplay, I doubt they'll alter the gameplay of Gears 3 to the same degree that ME2 altered the gameplay of ME1.
