Ho-oh is lame because we already got a legendary fire bird with Moltres, and to be honest I vastly prefer the flames coming off of Moltres' wings to Ho-oh's rainbow colored turkey tail.

Ho-Oh is ugly and has a dumb name.

Ho-Oh doesn't look that cool but his back story is better imo than Lugia's, the whole pheonix thing with the burning towers and the rest. also it's the first legendary Ash saw, at the beginning of the anime i might add, i agree with KungKras in that Ho-Oh was suppposed to be some kind of big finale (due to all the mystery surrounding his first appearance) but it never came due to massive series milkage, too bad though, seems like it would've made one awsome story ending

Ho-Oh's looks are also derived from the japanese version of the phoenix.

God I used to LOVE Pokemon Yellow and Silver. I got my friend to trade me a dratini and I trained him all the way to a level 99 Dragonite in yellow. He was awesome because he was non-elemental and therefor could be taught nearly any elemental super move. Then another of my friend's duped him of me by yanking out the transfer cable :(

Ho-Oh never really interested me yet I still chucked around 80 ultra balls at him to catch him. I stupidly used my Master Ball on a lvl 40 Lugia, who is so much more awesome then Ho-Oh :)

Ash saw Ho-Oh (early design) in the very first episode of the TV show I believe. Was year's ago.

I stopped following Pokemon before they bought out the next generation after #251.
I started playing more & more consoles games on the Gamecube (Skies of Arcadia Legends, Starfox Adventures, Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime etc) & the Xbox, mostly Halo during 2002-2003.

Damn I need to find and re-purchase these Gamecube games again. I still have my old Gamecube (and a Wii).
Unfortunately it will look awful on my HDTV. I'd rather play on a SD TV.

This. At the time, we had already seen Firebird, so more firebird was boring. Psychic bird was fresh and unique.

Now the only thing that could be fresh is if they created a proper legendary with similar properties to Spiritomb (weakness-free).

The reason I'm in anger at Lugia... is welll..... Just think uonown.
