As far as No More Heroes. Be glad Ubisoft is even willing to touch it. If they didn't who would?

Ubisoft probably won't publish the HD release. So there's no guarantee it'll come to the NA or Others at all.

If Ubisoft didn't do NHM, someone else assuredly would have.  Even if just one of the "niche" pubs, like Atlus, XSEED, Ignition, etc.

I'll be shocked if Heroes Paradise doesn't make it from one of them actually.

No More Heroes 1,No More Heroes 2, Red Steel 1 and Red Steel 2. Those games could have had better LTD sales if there developers showed them some DAMN SUPPORT!

Why Ubisoft? WHY?

Why publish or develop a game knowing that you're not going to give it support by making tv ads or something?

Ok, Red Steel 1 did sell 1 million copies LTD and I'm proud of those sales but come on!

WHAT ABOUT NO MORE HEROES 2?

There was so much hype going into that game and what happens? No Ads, Nothing!

With good advertisements shown on TV almost every other day, No more Heroes could of sold 150k first week worldwide. But no because Ubisoft doesn't care what does it sell? 40k first week! 40k? WTF?

Red Steel 2 is going to be released this tuesday and I've only seen one advertisement. Ubisoft better promote this game or else the LTD sales of this game will be lower than the first game.

As far as No More Heroes. Be glad Ubisoft is even willing to touch it. If they didn't who would?

Red Steel on the otherhand is their IP. As the release comes closer they're likely to put some ads out. Its a major release for the Wii. Gamestop is constantly running videos for it, I assume Ubisoft paid for that.

You do realize the release is 2 days away?

And if those companies published NMH for the Wii, sales would have been even more abysmal. Lets remember the origianl NMH actually had TV ads. Atlus aside, those publishers don't support the games they publish.

I predict abysmal sales for Heroes Paradise if Ignition or Xseed publish it. And Wii fans will say, "HD consoles can't sell this game either!"

I dunno... I wish it would be true, but even tough I agree with RS2, NMH2, as great as it is, it looks a bit way to niche and waaaaaaay to M for the Wii crowd :| Hell, I doubt that it would do any better on a HD system, and Im pretty certain that the HD port will bomb, so Im not blaming that on Ubi :|

RS2 on the other hand is entirely different. With a solid multiplayer component, and high development cost, they could have made the Wiis CoD IMO :| Too bad that it will become just another missed oportunity

low sales for wii = more support for 360/ps3. this is a good thing man.

I fail to see your logic.

Uh, NMH1 didn't have tv ads.  At least not in the US (where Ubi published it).  It had like zero promotion actually, I don't even remember web ads?

The game probably would've sold better if Atlus had done it... Ignition seems to do okay with promotion too (thanks Shane!).  XSEED is awful though.

I didn't notice they only did the US publishing. I do believe it had online advertising though.

Anyhow, people can only blame Ubisoft so much. There are a lot of games that receive advertising and still don't receive great sales. Such as Final Fantasy CCCB, Conduit, Madworld, TvC, etc. If those game have good legs, you can't say it was because of advertising. Advertising is usually only good for front loaded sales.

Frankly, I don't believe advertising would be financilly worth while for NMH. And if another (smaller) publisher got a hold of it, it would have most likely sold less.

Do you have any idea how much advertising costs?

Games like Modern Warfare 2 and God Of War III have ad. campaigns reaching into the millions of dollars, and even passing the production costs of the games themselves.
