-Gamers that think games with amazing graphics can't also have great gameplay
-Gamers who think a game has no replay value if it doesn't have online play
-developers focusing more on online than single player (I like playing games online just I feel many developers are watering down the single player mode)
-reviews are meaningless if it doesn't favor your console
-bias, (apparently you have to play through a whole game before you can make an opinion on a game for a console you don't own) and calling websites bias is getting old
-Expensive DLC (Burnout Paradise for example)
-MGS4 and GTAIV didn't deliver as well as their past gen counterparts

DLC, sometimes it's great, eg. burnout. 

But most the time you're paying for stuff that shoulda been included in the first place  (Tiger woods, SFIV, Need for speed)

On topic. I hate the hype that some of the big games get on these forums. When fans of a certain console( I won't mention which) hype games they sound and seem spectacular, but hardly live up to the hype. What I heard about this one FPS I couldn't wait to get it, but when I finally bought the console I found it was a urge disappointment 

Games (outside of the Wii) are no different then last-gen. Sure they're prettier, but that's all. I mean seriously, when will we get some interesting ideas. The only "interesting" game I've played all gen is Braid. You could claim that Crysis was innovative with the suit, but that was the ONLY difference it had from Farcry. I also guess CoD4, while not "innovative", gave a realistic picture of the horrors of war, in a way that no game had done before, hasn't done since, and probably won't for at least several more years.

I voted other; lack of good console games (yes, I'm serious) and the biggest shitpiles of all the downsides; the amount of overhyped titles that do nothing but disappoint, this gen has been ripe with them.

I would have to go with lack of variety of games and game styles as compared to other generation. And of course the Rabid and fierce fanboyism on all sides of the coin.
I personally think this generation is becoming saturated with only a few styles of game play which is stifling games that are not of those major categories.

Not enough games with the quality of a FF13 or MGS4.

The massive circle jerk of HD. I own a pretty good HD set and a 360 and I gotta say I don't see the big deal. Of wow it's crisper picture.. yay... how revolutionary -_-
