Pharmaceuticals are in the unenviable position of: Stockholders want profits, and cures are not as profitable as treatments, but it is unethical to seek out treatments when efforts can be put towards cures. Denied funding to help someone from greed, or considered evil because of that. Go profit!

Oh, and though it's Illegal to delay emergency room care to check on insurance, (Law made in 1986), they only need to stabilize patients. Also, they don't always do that, seeing as there about a 40,000 fine only if the patient complains or reports it, I.E. doesn't die in private from being dumped. So, I'm not sure what exactly you're basing "no one gets turned away from" Mancandy, aside from hopes and dreams. Also, particularly since the Federal Government is supposed to pay for those cases(As I have heard advertised, so that is hearsay), either everyone pays, or the hospitals are screwing you without ample lube. The cure for hysteria is still around!

Quite right, but pharmaceuticals are not all industry based. Much of their research is done by universities and other learning institutions, pharmaceuticals provide some funding and a way of distribution and marketing. There is a sort of check and balances within the industry.

Seems like you got exactly what I meant when I said "no one gets turned away".

Well skipping the BS of reading what people have wrote I will say that all of the liberals scare the hell out of me to the point that I gag at the thought of them being elected...their social policies are downright frightening.

And the Republican candidates aren't much better, without going into details even some of their social policies worry me and several of them have..."other" things that make me want to gouge their eyes out.

I actually like McCain if anyone because he made the "promise" (not that he would keep it anyways) that he would veto any bill that had the slightest hint of pork in it and make the people who added that pork famous for defrauding the American people.

I think pork is a fundamental problem in our system. Stupid laws get passed as pork and it has ruined the system. Every law should be about a single topic..NOTHING MORE. This bullshit where you tack crap on to either kill it or to garner votes from other people is insanity and has been a bane on our system and a drain on the tax system for far too long..which was true the moment it started.

PS - I hope to whatever person/idea you hold dear that YOU...yes YOU..the reader can agree that a law should be written about one topic only. If people can't see the benefit in a law being written for the sake of that law only and with all of the focus on that topic then I think the world in general is a lot further down the drain than I had thought. This is such a fundamental concept it frightens me that it needs to be stated....its like breathing...only more obvious (I'm just being facetious now).

edit: OMG, I just realized what this is....senators have been trolling each other's bills for 80+ years....LMAO

What?  You don't like a "Orphans Day" Bill that includes increaded military funding, new search and seizure laws and a carbon tax?

We take you live to Washington:

"This is an emergency session in Congress to direct our attention towards the Crisis at Springfield. The bill is proposed to immediately use US Army Resources to evacuate the city and it's residents from harm.

Yes, I'd like to tack on an additional 40,000 in funding to support the pornography industry.

All in favour of the joint Springfield evacuation/perverted arts bill? Denied!"

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Democracy does not work!

This thread needs more Simpsons.

See Ya George.

"He did not die - He passed Away"

At least following a comedians own jokes makes his death easier.

Also, they should fund universal healthcare by getting rid of things like... the Department of Education... which is a completly worthless goverment organization... like you need the Federal government bothering the local government about education. Just cut them a check if you want to and let them handle it. It's not like a state is going to want to make their schooling worse.

You could lower the military budget... i'd perfer getting rid of the many many worthless branches of government deparments we have. I mean, our troops despite all the awesome funding arn't exactly making alot or getting all the best supplies. I'm guessing too much of that money goes to R&D of crazy sattelite based nuclear defense systems and nuclear missles we're likely to never use.

I agree with the TC. Hillary? Barack? Way too big government, not to mention Hillary just seems like an airhead half the times and Barack won't even say the f'ing pledge of allegiance.

I used to be all gung-ho Republican back in the day, but now I'm strictly libertarian, albeit with socially conservative leanings. I'm a staunch Jeffersonian and an avid supporter of states rights, small government, and capitalism.

Ron Paul is the first republican in a long time that seems worth my vote, though the repubs usually get my vote anyway just due to lack of a good alternative.

If I had my way, I'd be voting SIP every election, but sadly they don't run too often.

@knuckles

everything you name (almost) happened 50 years ago or more, way before the dems sold their souls, lost their morals and sold out.

also, the civil rights act was almost stopped by southern DEMOCRATS

you mean the green laws that have pushed gas prices in cali up to 5 bucks? or the ones that created huge gas lines in the 70's jimmy carter that is all i have to say!! 20% home loans anybody?

If the liberal have their way we will all be living in commune style 'dense' housing taking the bus to work and paying 75% in taxes. no thanks

Ha ha ha ha ha ha, here's where you get yourself into trouble.

Those Democrats that tried to stop the Civil Rights Act? They became Republicans. It was the Democratic president (LBJ) who pushed it through, not the Republicans. IF LBJ hadn't gone ahead and done what was right, the South would still be Democrat land.

Since LBJ there have been how many Democratic presidents? So I'm sure you see the problem with saying that the Democrats haven't done anything. Your friend Jimmy Carter also set your favored economic policies in action, so maybe you shouldn't criticize him unless you actually know about him. You know not what you speak of, I'm sorry to say it, but it's true.

You'd be surprised at the amount of backwoods Southerners that still vote Democrat simply "because they're Democrats."  They don't know a damn thing about politics, but vote Democrat because their father did, and they did because their father did, and so on and so forth.

Winston Churchill said something like this: IF you are 20 and not liberal you don't have a heart, if you are 40 and not conservative then you don't have a brain.

Real life and expericen have a conservative bias, appropriate seeing as how I am arguing with many 'young people'

AND I expect the liberal to start insulting me, thats is what they do when they disagree but don't have any ideas, they don't have solutions so they insult!

i will leave with this said by someone whose name i cannot remember: If you argue with fools in the end they will they still be fools, and you'll just get tired!

@fkusumot

almost forgot... bet you wouldn't say any of that to my face punk!

you look like bjork, elton john, and prince had a threesome and you are the dwarf love child

Screw everyone except Ron Paul.

Haha America is going to be run by a Woman or a Black man, oh that's just gold, no disrespect, I just see so much irony in it.
