Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Anything Final Fantasy. Period.

The first 10, big time

12 had a good one, but not quite FF worthy (still fantastic though)

so ill be specific and say anything with uematsu

Also:

Mario/zelda games have some good soundtracks

Halo i love some of those.

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

Streets of Rage, definitely great stuff. Anything really by Yuzo Koshiro. Go with stuff like Actraiser, SoulBlazer, Revenge of Shinobi as well. Mega Man 1-3 have awesome music. I agree with GooseGaws that Jet Grind Radio is awesome as well.

I think we need to differentiate between scores and soundtracks, and possibly even a 3rd category for rhythm games, since they're definitely not background music at all, but are the game itself.  Here are some of my favorites.

Scores: - anything by Koji Kondo or Nobuo Uematsu, and DKC, Mega Man 2, Streets of Rage 2, Dr. Mario, Balloon Fight, Contra, Earthbound

Soundtracks: - Katamari Damacy (which has a great score as well), Rock and Roll Racing, Animal Crossing: Wild World (all the KK Slider jams), Brawl (I know it's not out yet, but it's getting better with each announcement)

Rhythm games: - Daigasso! Band Bros., Elite Beat Agents, Guitar Hero 2: Rock the 80's
