Well, you don't need to finish a game to review it. I have only played one hour on the conduit, but I can tell you that it sucks ass.

Thing is, if it had been, say, Deadly Premonition that he'd only finished 90% of and then reviewed, nobody would care. But this is FFXIII we're talking about: a game that millions of Internet denizens would defend to the death even if it were nothing more than Motomu Toriyama's poo stuffed into a PS3 case. Any negative review of it would have received this kind of attention, and Final Fantasy fans across the 'net will do anything they can to discredit a reviewer that gives it a less-than-positive review. This is just one such case of grasping at straws.

He is no where near the end of the game, or completing the full game for that matter...

You guys are wrong. He played the game on a debug, which = no trophies/achievements. This is how site who have a relationship with publishers review games.

That is all this is. Stop talking shit, this something a lot you are clearly ignorant about.

If you've played through 90% of a game and didn't like it then what will that other 10% change? People seem to forget that reviews are subjective.

Yeah, it's a pretty rare thing that the last 10% of a game will suddenly turn it from an 8 to a 9 and pretty much unheard of for the last 10% to turn it from a 4 to even a 7.  It's easy for the end of a game to hurt it (Uncharted and Uncharted 2 both come to mind) but I can't really think of a game that's bad enough where I would call it a 4 to have the last 10% to bump it much higher.

This. Video games are all about the journey, not the destination. If even the first 50% of your game is an unfun mess, then that certainly justifies a reviewer panning it. This is 90%. You do the math.

How is it the last 10 percent?

Do you know how big Gran Pulse is, or how much stuff there is to do when you get to Gran Pulse... NOT including the Story?

If anything, i would say he was about 70% through the game.
