Forums - Sales - Sony's move will be a fad and help Nintendo to sell even more consoles

I am not being completly ironic. I just don't see people buying these things. Here's why...

Did you buy a PS3 over a Wii? Motion sensors technology meant nothing to you. Why buy it now?

New customers? I don't know... If you are attracted to this kind of thing why not getting the original, which is cheaper...

A Wii is 249

A PS3 is 299 + 100 (starters kit of Sony Move)= 399 ?

I think that Sony will boost the Wii sales when they advertise their peripheral. They can sell some hardware, but in terms of brand's recognition Sony's move will only reinforce Nintendo's diferencial benefit in the minds of the the expanded market. Nintendo will grow stronger while Sony's Move will be nothing but a fad...

Or not?

when I bought a PS3 over a Wii, motion sensing was a factor (I'm a fan of the concept), but games simply were a bigger factor and I really don't need a second console, because I don't even have enough time for my PS3 games

That would be so FUNNY!

I can't believe people voted for Playstation Move on the Weekly Poll... PS fans sure are blind. The showing was lame, come on!

I haven't bought a wii because it is not in HD, not because I think motion controls totally are worthless

You're really annoying.... I picked Move because it showed thing's that peaked my interest, the same reason everyone else voted for Move. Stop being Butt hurt that Sony are now offering another feature to their aleady quality console.

On Topic: For anyone that want's a multimedia center and motion control's, the PS3 is the choice. PS3 owner's that are interested in motion contol's but don't like what the Wii have to offer, can now buy Move instead. People that enjoy the Wii experience but want that little bit more in terms of Third party support and HD capabilities, can now buy Move. I can go on, but the Wii now has a direct competitor, so that only could mean the loss off sales. When the consumer has more choices to choose from, it leads to one product losing marketshare to another no matter how small.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

A Wii + PS3 is more expensive then a PS3 + wand.

Didn't everyone think the Wii was going to be a fad?

i dont think it will be popular enough to be considered a fad...and i really dont see it boosting wii sales.

well, sounds logical.

In fact, I have similar feelings. See, I bought my PS3 after my Wii's game completely dried out and I thought.... Damn, PS3 has awesome games coming out every week or two, Why not get that?

Soriku (Feb 10/08): In 5 years the PS3/360 will be dead.
