Nintendo played follow the leader a couple of times, and it didn't work. That is why they would be embarrassed if they did what Sony and Microsoft are doing.

And considering all the trash talking that Nintendo needs to go HD when they are in the lead of the HD systems, I say Nintendo deserves a few counter jabs.



A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Its not a jab at anyone else, hes just saying how he would feel if he was put in their shoes.

How would you feel if you dissed World of Warcraft consistently for 3 years and then had to tell the person you were dissing how much of a fan you are of the game now?

I commend Nintendo that even a marginal statement like this brings out such a response. That shows how much of a clean ship they have been running this generation inspite of the crap hurled their way. Truely excellent stuff which is the reason why they are the only console manufacturer I respect.

Sony and Microsoft mocked Nintendo and the Wii for years and now they are doing exactly what they said was stupid, uncool and gimmicky before. Not only that, in Sony's case we already know that they are making blatant rip-offs of popular Wii games without having anything that is actually original (so far).

It's hypocrisy at the highest level and yes, that is a reason to be embarassed.

Why would they feel threatened from one month? Its not something which is unprecedented see?

Now granted, they ARE Kotaku. These douchebags and the people who post there are the epitome of anti-Nintendo trolling. With that said, if this is indeed an accurate statement and not taken out of context, I have to say that I'm disappointed that Reggie would say something like this. WHO GIVES A FUCK what the competition is doing and if you think they're copying? So what? Stay focused on your core mission. Expand the gaming audience and continue to innovate and bring new experiences. I want Nintendo to shut the mainstream press and "hardcore" gamers up by continuing to smash sales records and perform.
