Wow, great pricing relative to the only known models being pushed via the Samsung C7000, C8000 and C9000 series which go for $250 per pair. Nice on Sony for entering so inexpensively id say relative to the product being discussed.

Good news, SONY is entering at a cheaper price than others.
Good start for them, but I will not buy these, I cannot justify the cost.
I'm fairly sure Sony announced at CES that their 3D sets will come with 2 3D glasses, so you actually would only have to buy one. And prices obviously will drop once it has gone mass market.
edit:
the news even says so ..
Some that can buy them (glasses and 3Dtv) can enjoy 3D in their home now. Nothing wrong with that
Hmm...not bad for an entry point.
Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!
Kojima: Come out with Project S already!
New technology is always expensive so what are you complaining about? Wait a couple of years and the price will go down.

I thought this was the normal price for 3D glasses though? do they differ from the set below in some way? ($150 = about £90-100)

Heres a cheaper solution. Go to the cinema and watch a 3D film. When you leave, dont give back your 3D glasses so you have some to use back home.
Given how much you are going to have to pay for the TV in the first place, that is quite cheap...
The main barrier to entry is the TV itself
Whatever happend to the old 3D paper glases that came free of charge with your breakfast cereal?
