they also put wii at....9 http://www.metacritic.com/games/cube/scores/

now if you ask 100 people why the gamecube was a failure, probably 95 of them would say the lack of games....

so in 2 years the wii will be on the shelves just as long as the gamecube was.  Will wii be able to catch up and have 17 AAA games in order to match the gamecube which is considered a system with very few good games?

I just find it difficult to not be pissed off about wii....I mean i understand everyone wants to stand by their console and act like we aren't getting ripped off....but I've honestly put over 1,000 into my wii (mostly periphials and required add-ons/controllers) and yet I still barely play the damn thing.  I just have a feeling when this generation of consoles is over with, wii will be considered a completely oversold, and overrated console.

the same thing was done with gamecube...people stuck by saying it would come around and how good it still was but as soon as the generation ended the real truth came out.

I might sound like a fanboy but it really pisses me off that nintendo is making money hand over fist and they wont fork out a little bit and pick up some good 3rd party exclusives...and im talking known franchises, and not just a resident evil rail shooter.

The Wii still has more variety then the Gamecube had, and third party support (imho). It is getting more titles released for it.

I think a lot of reviewers are being biased because of the sub part HD graphics and wii controls.. When the Gamecube was out it was equal or better then the original Xbox in terms of graphics (Resident Evil 0 and RE4 says hi).

I think theres quite a few games out there that deserve higher scores - New Super Mario Brothers Wii, Punch Out, Little King's Story, Boom Blox, Super Paper Mario, A Boy and his Blob, Harvest Moon Frontier, Modern Warfare Reflex Edition (Yes I went there.) to name a few.

Lets also not forget Wii sales. The Wii has won based on sales alone. No contest there.

I remember the good ol' days when all the Sony/MS Fanboys, hell I think even Nintendo fans called it the purple lunch box lol.

I reckon you should count games with scores of 85%+ to be fair., then it would be a lot more games on a AAA list, oh and COD reflex is much better than what it has on metacritic.

Metacritic far from representative of the amount of quality games. For me at least, it is no competition, the Wii is the much better console in that area.

last generation has 3 similar systems. Actual generation hasn't this: Wii is too different rescpect the other 2. The fact is that this difference have had modulade the reviews system.. graphics, controls... and in some cases notes are not adjusted to reality.. for example Little King's Story deserves to have a 90+ but it hasn't.

This generation will be remember for thep ower of hype and the confusing parametres to review..

The Wii vs. Gamecube thing is just exemplary to me of why Metacritic isn't particularly valuable as an absolute metric of quality.
