Forums - Sony - Price is the biggest barrier fo the Move

Looking at this from an ecnomic perspective. For the prices that are unannounced, I'm taking a guess.

The PSM is going to be very expensive for a multiplayer setup. Even the Wii is a fair amount for multiplayer.

PSM

PSM basic kit: $100
Nunchuck: $20-30
Lightstick: $40-50

Full one person setup for PSM = basic kit + nunchuck+ extra lightstick + PS3

Full setup for each additional person full setup: lightstick + lightstick + nunchuck

Natal

Natal camera: $50-100

Full One person setup for Natal = Natal camera + X360

For each additional person: Nothing

Wii MotionPlus

MotionPlus: $20
Wimote/WM+ bundle: $50
Nunchuck: $20

Full one person setup for Wii M+ = MotionPlus + Wii

For each additional person full setup: Wiimote + WM+ + Nunchuck

yeah, but quite a few of us of us already own the psEye, lolz, cheaper cost for us:P:P

it's the future of handheld

I won't be in a big hurry to get it (For me, the wii mote has been a let down so far, though better software could remedy that), unless something comes out that looks and plays great.

How do we know Natal is going to be 50-100? Is that just based on Patcher's speculation? I wouldn't be suprised if it ended up costing more than that.

Also, I doubt people will go out and buy the camera, two wands, and a saber (or whatever they are called) all at once. They will probably buy whatever they need for that one game. If down the road they need something else, then they'll probably buy it then. Most people won't buy all the accessories right off the bat unless they have a need for them.

... How about waiting for more info on the package options. At GDC the stated clearly that they were only giving info on the starter pack for the moment... Do you think SONY's silly enough to assume that people that already have PSEye's will be just fine with purchasing another?

4 ≈ One

Maybe Sony should have waited for the PS4 to release this. Nintendo was going to use the wii remote as an add-on for the gamecube, it wouldn't have been as successful. Time will tell for the move.

This wouldn't be the first time Sony messed up with the price. This does not bod well and will surely put of people from buying this. Those who own a PS3 will skip it due to price and new gamers will look to the cheaper Wii with a lot more games.

I don't think this will end well for Sony.

Time to get a third job. :P

I think it's too much, and I'm still buying it! Can't wait for RE5 Move edition!

the key is to get people to see it's different and "better" than the Wii. It's PS3 after all.
