Forums - Nintendo - So my Wii has arrived and I need some answers

Loving the experience  so far with Wii Sports Resort (3 pt contest is my fav right now) but I am headed out later today and I need to know what I need to buy.

What memory card is recommended?

What Nintendo 1st party should I start with first (SMG, NSMB or Brawl)?

What controllers do you you guys recommend?

Also any other info is greatly appreciated

Memory card: I assume you're asking about an SD card? The memory card slots under the flaps are for Gamecube games only. In the former case, any quality SD / SDHC card will do.

Games: I'm biased towards NSMBWii (GET KORORINPA)

Controllers: I'd recommend extra Wiimotes for NSMBWii chaos, but the Classic Controller / Gamecube controllers are a purely optional feature for a few retail disc games; you may want one or the other for some Virtual Console and WiiWare tites, though.

Also: I hope you have a thick skin, because a lot of people will assume you care about their stupid opinions of your new acquisition.

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

You don't really need a memory card unless you want to play GC games. Get Brawl and then NSMB if you have other people to play with. If not get SMG and then NSMB. I would also get gamecube controllers if you buy Brawl. Classic controller is pretty much pointless, but some like it.

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

1. You don't really need to use an SD card unless you plan on buying a ton of VC/ Wiiware stuff.

2. They're all good, but in order of quality I would say Brawl, then NSMB Wii, then Galaxy. Though if you're not into multiplayer as much, I'd go with Galaxy.

3. Definitely the Wiimote/ Nunchuck combo. Also, the classic controller pro is coming out soon in the US so I'd try to grab one of those too.

Are component cables necessary?

If you have HDTV then you will get better picture quality with component, but it's not necessary.

BTW, Metroid Prime Trilogy is great deal if you're into Metroid.

There's no need for them but it definitly helps, especially if you're using an HDTV. I decided to get some component calbes so my Wii games could look good on my new HD set, and the majority of the games I've played looked great, many of them almost indistinguishable from HD.

GET OKAMI!

I'd say yes for the component cables, they won't make a huge difference but they do make a difference and they are cheap.

A classic controller is a must if you are planning on delving into the virtual console, particularly the SNES ones. SD card is only necessary if you are planning on getting into VC and Wiiware, but the Wii memory will hold you over for a little while at least.

You can't go wrong with any of the major Nintendo first party games, except Metroid Trilogy where I would suggest a try before you buy if you don't know if you like Metroid (personally one of my favourite games ever).

I didn't even read the OP I'm just here to troll!
