Forums - Nintendo - Monster Hunter games hinted at the DS2/next NIntendo handheld

Well Nintendo are promoting MH3 in the west so I don't see why they wouldn't listen to this.

This is also mentioned here. http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/article.php?id=15764

It would make the most sense for them. The DS brand is huge as hell, but not quite powerful enough to support the Monster Hunter experience (though it did Phantasy Star Online quite well, which is very close to the Monster Hunter experience), Capcom would want a world with Nintendo handhelds where they could sell one of the biggest brands in Japan to the biggest platform in Japan.

My guess is that other third parties are saying similar things about their brands and Nintendo consoles in general for next generation.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

So what the fuck they don't do it?

Don't tell me the current DS online service is not enough for a Monster Hunter game...

Yeah...

nintendo dont need to read articles I am sure they bluntly told them

"get them motherfucking online experiences into your next motherfucking handheld"

Well, obviously they'd want to put MH on DS, or its successor. No-brainer. It could turn into something of a grown-up Pokémon, if done right.

that would be so cool if it were true. i really wish Nintendo would do more to create a more complete expereince with their products, like how they lack any online infrastructure whatsoever

I thought that's what they were doing with the DSi...they're trying to test the market for stronger online markets. Basically, Nintendo has been ready to enter the online market for some time. But unlike Microsoft and Sony, who are willing to jump into the market by force (at a loss or making their users pay a fee), Nintendo has always stated they need to have additional revenue sources available to pay for the literally millions of users who would be using their servers and online services.

If things like DSiWare and WiiWare keep doing well, they probably will go full on into online support with their next systems.  Using excess funds from services like DSi/WiiWare to cover it.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

Capcom should suck it up and watch Disney. Disney at least has the balls to do what they want. DGamer yeah if you can believe it is an online infrastructure by Disney. This is why I stopped listening to Capcom years ago. DGamer accounts and games are cross connected. Even on the DS. So you can play one game and chat with someone else. There is no binding to the DS WiFi unless you plan to use Nintendo NWC system.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

*Sigh

This is ABSOLUTELY untrue. Nintendo does not "lack any online infrastructure whatsoever". I wish people would stop saying that. Just because it's different, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
