I had answers for many on this but there are tomany to cover so I,ll be brief

75 m-85 m this is far more than I would have said before but now it may just make it.

to get to 10years it will need to keep selling well.

$99 or even $149 wil not happen only maybe $199.

Well, as theprof pointed out it's more likely to have a fourth year peak by full years, since it includes November and December of 09.

But I think people are overoptimistic about 2010. So far it's up YoY on a weekly basis, but every week it's up less. GoW3 should give it momentum in March, but it's not going to carry momentum for the five month period following it's release. YoY comparisons will continue to get worse and eventually turn negative, the earlier Microsoft makes a move the moreso.

 

Edit: I look at relative YoY comparisons these days because in retrospect, if we had looked at them for Wii we would have seen the Wii's troubles coming as early as 2008.

I'm curious, what exactly do you mean by relative YoY comparisons?

Percent comparison to the same week in the previous year, rather than absolute numbers.

Part 3.1 - GT5 is released, all past sales numbers go out the window.

Part 3.2 - With its release, significant majority of European HD console sales are PS3s.

 

If its released in Oct/Nov GT5 will effectivly kill holiday 360 sales in Europe.  I stand by this and always have. 

 


Sorry I just dont think 1 game will push that much hardware.  First off already 40 million PS3s will already have been sold and a great deal of GT fans will have purchased a PS3 because they are also huge PS3 fans. Second with some 4 million GT5P sales already a bunch of those purchasers will be GT5 purchasers and wont purchase a new PS3 for GT5.

So you think the PS3 will still be selling 3-4 years after the Wii and 360. That is delusional.  If the 360 is truly at 70M when the PS3 is at 74M no way MS discontinues the 360. In fact MS wont discontinue selling the 360 as long as it is profitable. They stopped selling the Xbox because it was never going to be profitable.

do you live in europe? in europe Gran turismo is huge, i dont think you realise just how huge it is. its like halos dad in europe and 40 million ps3's is fuck all, theres millions of more people than want a ps3. on top of that the playstation brand name is extremely strong in europe.

I'll just have to sit back and watch how Sony pulls off these sales. Obviously, it's bound to happen since these analysts know much more than I do.

N ot very much of what you say is based in reality and most of it is pro Sony no mutter what.

Are you referring to the Modern Warfare issue?   Whereby I said MW2 was coming for Wii but it turned out it was the first MW game, of which I pointed out months before it was announced? 

Or are you referring to where I said Wii would hit 10 million in Japan before PS3 hit 5 million?

Or practically every other sales prediction I've made here?  Show me my mega failures on here and I'll show even more that were spot on.
