the parents (if you can even call them that) are all to blame in this. im sorry but even if she mistook a gun for a wiimote, you dont leave loaded guns in reach of a child. i think the parents should get jail time for neglect and manslauter...as a start.

exactly, what the hell were they thinking, they have money to buy a gun and a fake gun. It's nice to see that they would spoil themselves rather than watch out for a 3-year old. its just sad to see how this kind of things can happen when parents dont watch out for their kids and just leave a gun right in the open.

I can think of some better headlines for this news story

Stepfather leaves gun loaded, with safety off and cocked, girl dies due to him.

What the hell does the Wii have to do with this? This was plain and simple manslaughter by the step dad.

Naum, you don't think people in the US still have to face the threats of wild animals, criminals, potential invaders and/or government agents? All of those things are still possible threats, as far as I can tell. Let's not forget the very common activity of hunting.
