No! Game Freak will not remake Sapphire and Ruby. The DS is backward compatible with the GBA. Therefore any gamer that wants to play those games can find them second hand and import their Pokemon into Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold or SoulSilver.

Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow and Pokemon Gold, Silver, Crystal were all remade because none of those pokemon could be imported into Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald. This led to a lot of gamers not being able to enjoy the fruits of their labor and some Pokemon Fanatics stoped playing. Also the development of a new pokemon game that's going to be released in the Fall ensures that a remake of Ruby and Sapphire are not in the works.

I'm thinking it be releasing for the DS successor in a few years. Don't know about myself buying it, it was my least favorite region of them all.

That would make sense. New game and remake on GBA. New game and remake on DS. And then new DS coming out with new pokemon game and remake of Ruby/ Saphire.

I highly doubt it. For me, Pokemon Gold/Silver had a far bigger impact than Ruby and Sapphire.

My fav is the Blue version. The olny one i own.

I doubt they'll be remade any time soon. Not even on the DS successor.

Considering how many Pokemon games they're trying to pump out now, I wouldn't put it past them.

I never thought they'd make a Gold/Silver remade due to the Red/Blue remake having all the Gold/Silver pokemon in it. But they did anyway.... A Ruby/Sapphire remake is just as likely now.
