**Note: what I am about to post is theory, and not fact. Please do not take it as such, whether you agree or disagree.

My guess is that after you get married, the pre-honeymoon period is over. You've now confirmed legally that you love each other, and that you want to be together. And since this is now recognized, you don't need the physical reminder as much. Of course, time will still settle in, causing you 2 to still act like bunnies right after marriage, and the decay of the need will vary from person to person, but you know that, in theory, you could get it any time.

Conversely, not being together needs the constant reminder that you will be together, and this will more often come in the physical sense. Either party could walk away at any time, leaving the other one stranded and without immeadiate ability to gratification with another person. It's not something that can be depended on, so more opportunites to do so are taken advantage of for the moment.
