Forums - Nintendo - Dawn of Discovery Wii... How did this game go so unnoticed??

Definitely an overlooked gem, one of the best 3rd party efforts on the system. If you find it at a bargain price get it and you will not be disappointed especially for rts fans. I also hear that a sequel (venice) is in the works and I'm very much looking forward to it. Must buy if you like RTS.

Venice is an expansion for the PC version. Not a sequel.

I agree, the game is fantastic.

It sold really well in the Benelux and Germany (probably more than everywhere else combined), but it's disappointing it couldn't break through in the US.

looks better than simcity, I have simcity, I like priates... sadly I'm on my Laptop V_V Console gaming is taking a rest until something huge comes out.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

I would like to buy it if the coop mode is very good. Did you tried it MetalliCube?

Not yet, but from what I've heard, the 2nd player mostly does secondary tasks like draw marks to point to areas of interest, build scenery around the cities, and use fireworks, and those kinda non practical things.. So it seems like a Mario Galaxy esque co-op. But it's better than nothing I guess.

thanks for the heads up

youhave sold me on it for real

i LOVE those kind of games

btw my recommend for you is swords and soldiers, or ff darklord

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

I also got the DS version, although I did like the concept and really enjoyed it at first, it kind of wore off on me and I ended up playing much more Civilization Revolution DS. If I spot the Wii version and it is under $30, I will buy it.

PS. If you like Little King Story, you may want to check out Rune Factory Frontier. It has ended up being my overall favourite Wii title to date.

Dawn of Discovery, Little King Story and Rune Factory Frontier.

I agree with him cause I'm quite sure that if you like two out of those three games, you'll definitely would like the third.

And yeah. Those three games are quality titles and deserve better sales.

Is this game in the VGC game database?

MY ZELDA COLLECTION

Hmm I might have to check out Rune Factory then. I've looked into it a little before, and it seemed a little complex and slow paced at times. Those were really the only things holding me back from getting it. But it does look interesting, and I like the level of customization and the freedom it seems to give you in the game. Maybe I'll pick that one up once I finish with DoD.

it went unnoticed, unfortunately, like how a lot of wii games go unnoticed - because of no advertising and promotion

I personally don't remember every hearing anything about this game

Dont forget the camp here and mostly likely other sites. They dont do a good job of promoting any Wii Gems either

If you're relying on random people on the internet to promote your product for you, you've got a problem.

virtually everywhere, Wii is still getting the Cube treatment.
