Forums - Gaming Discussion - Activision confirms Infinity Ward firings!!!

Some of you guys need to stop drinking the hate Activision Kool-Aid. You think Activision doesn't know that Modern Warfare 2 was huge? You think they just go around firing people for no reason? Some of you people need to get a grip! If you guys were running Activision, you'd just let these guys run wild and do whatever the hell they wanted to just because they're successful it seems like.

I don't like Activision and Bobby Kotick as much as the next guy, but only a complete idiot would sit here and try to say that they got fired for no reason at all.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

And to think 5 years ago everyone hated EA.

Yeah just fire the people who made one of the most successful games of all time.

Also the people who recently earned you $1 Billion.

Activision - Go die a slow, painful death.

It sounded like they were fired because they were negoatiating another deal while under contract... which their contracts specifically forbade them from doing.

If that's true... their firing is totally justified.

Firing is such a harsh term.
It's more like, cut the fat, or removed an expendable(s)....ahah

We're talking about IW here, not Valve :P

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

Wow, what could have happened between then to stir up this craziness? Must have been important whatever it was, to fire the heads of the company that developed such as massively successful game as MW2...

God damn you Blizzard, get the hell away from that company. Without Blizzard and Infinity Ward, Activision would surely die.

What's the big deal, if IW leaves Activision, it's reason to cheer, not sulk. They are talented developers and there is no doubt that we will see more games from them, publishers will go crazy to buy them when their contract expires.

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

Wow! Firing 2 guys could lead to other people leaving and them left with little talent.
Stupid move by Activision

Activision needs to die.

negociating a contract is not 'illegal', considering their jobs are contract based in the first place.

Activision tried to control IW, and I forseen this will be a big fail
