I am normally very cautious about JRPGs, especially Final Fantasy games. I blaim this on what is probably the worst introduction to the Final Fantasy series one could imagine. The first game I played was Dirge of Cerberus, then I saw the Advent Children movie, and then I played Final Fantasy 10 (the worst one I have encountered thus far). Suffice to say, this tainted my views of the series, but time sort of healed the wounds and now I am mildy hyped for 13. The reviews have me nervous and almost all of the characters are unappealing if not downright annoying (kind of like FF 10) imo. Still, I'll give the game the benefit of the doubt.

My anticipation for Mass Effect 2 killed the hype for this game in my eyes. I preordered it, but I do not think its GOTY material or anything. You're not alone OP, I am with you. The best two titles to come out of Japan this year are Tatsunoko vs Capcom and this Bayonetta.

I'm more hyped for Fallout: New Vegas than I am for FFXIII and I generally hate wrpgs. I still have hope for Vs. Sad state of affairs this generation has been.

I disagree, ffx is my fave.

FF X was nothing short of amazing. So I will accept the X teams next game with open arms.

Let's put it like this:

I had the games ending spoiled for me three months ago.

I have been playing the Japanese version since January.

I have also read all the negative reviews about the game.

But right now, I am so fucking hyped for the game I can barely sleep lol. It's an amazing game, easily the best JRPG released this gen. So yeh I think you are the only one Simulacrum! Most the people here who are not hyped for the game were never really HYPED like fans are. From your OP, I'm assuming you're a pretty big fan of the series. So again, you are alone lol.

It's Final Fantasy and I have two copies pre-ordered so I would be lying to say that I am not excited to play the game, but I was never exactly hyped for it or been advocating it. I am known Final Fantasy fan so it would be pointless for me to be excited. It will be decent and I will like at least part of it.

If you were once hyped for this game and review scores of any kind affected your hype in any way, you are obviously not a FF fan or a JRPG fan of any sort, so who cares what you think?
