Until I can beat (or even play) the game.

I guess that being as though she was a reporter working on the Oragami Killer case it would make sense that she knew a private detective (Shelby) was also working on the case. Most of these really aren't plot holes and can be explained by using your own logical thinking. The only one that seems odd to me is Ethan finding the oragami figures after his blackouts and the only explanation I can think of is his guilt of loosing Jason has made him think he is the killer during these blackouts and so he is making the figures to satisfy that belief. |
Alright, Mr. Smarty Pants, fill in this plot hole: why did no one tell Shelby that his brother John actually survived, made Commander, and is now starring in a super successful game franchise of his very own? That's not exactly the kind of information you withhold, and it could have saved a lot of lives.

Because this way both MS and Sony will be able to work together on a multiplatform game where the two brothers are re-united and spread orchids and oragami to the whole universe. GOTY 2011 confirmed!
Interesting stuff. Its true a lot of these aren't plot holes. Just stupid mistakes made by some characters or the police force. I did wonder about the origami with Ethan though. It was never explained why Ethan was carrying those after blackouts.
And when Shelby is in the typewriter store its not a plot hole, but its missing something. I have to play that scene again to see if I missed a quick fade to black or something, but I wish it cut away from him to controlling the girl for about 20-30 seconds so there could be time to perform the actions he does.
Also for Ethan still thinking he could be the killer after the lizard. It makes sense. If you have a split personality the evil side could still be testing you and the good side wouldn't know about the other. The evil side could have just programmed the camera device to give you the next letters to the address regardless of whether you performed the action in time.
Spoilers obviously.
IMO an even bigger fail was Maddison falling in love with Ethan after like what, spending 3-4 hours with him, most of which was her bandaging him up and him telling her to get out of his room after she finishes up. The butterfly part was rather idiotic as well as there was no way Shelby could fit into the second smaller tunnel at the power plant, Ethan barely fit in there.
However the game gets big props for the Indiana Jones style fight with the Junk yard owner guy(think big german mechanic guy in Raiders), that was incredibly cool. Also Madison seeking cover from the explosion in the fridge was a nice nod to Indiana Jones too.
Most of these aren't plotholes, as has been said, but yes, there were some genuine ones. Ethan's blackout origami figures for example, still go completely unaddressed.

Darthdevidem01 posted Turn10 comments about Forza 3 without owning a 360, perhaps he and Galaki are part of a smearing-games and devs cult for their own personal interest . Hmmm......the plot thickens. On topic, I'd say 2/3's of those could be addressed but some seem like fillers for the 15. The Gold Watch excuse for example could be explained by ari, while Jaiden just says gold watch=policemen, ARI could be able to have a better description (brand, look, etc.) that could link the gold watch to only being the customary police watch given to retirees. |
Also, Jayden had nothing to lose, but only time.
He HAD to do something or go somewhere, and I loved how the game even tempts you into accusing Blake.
I acknowledge a bunch of these plot-holes, and some of them are really funny. I remember when Madison heard the killer's name and I was frantically thinking about which characters she's met, and since Ethan was the only one, I thought him. Silly stuff. That being said, I just don't care. It is still a brilliant game!

I fell for that. I didn't like that asshole anyway, so when it gave me the option of accusing him, I bit.
