Then you, my friend, are not Krato's intended demographic.  Freeman resonates more with 20-something year old nerds, and Kratos resonates more with teens and tweens.  Doesn't make either lame.

How in the hell is Kratos aimed at teens and tweens when it carries an 18 certificate???????

 

The Masterchief thing is boring guys, how about you answer Twesterns point on Kratos instead of trolling the thread trying to go offtopic.  I'll report you all regardless of the fact nobody will act.

Same reason why GTA, porn, tobacco, guns, and gangstas appeal to underages.

I know kids will covet games they "cannot" play but that doesn't mean they're aimed at that audience.

The thing is every character now a days trys to be "Bad ass" in every game with a story you get the typical bullshit character, if Kratos is bad ass (bad ass = the new norm now) what is the new bad ass?

Kratos needs to be angry and bald all the time. He's fighting Gods! I would be bald and angry too if i had to fight Gods. To whom i would pray for help? That's nuts. :P

Those that don't try to be badass, the ones that are corny and likeable are the new "bad ass."

haha, you're right. This is the king of lame. You don't ever see his face, and that's not even important to the plot! (since he does take the helmet off, it's just the player who never sees the face for some lamest reason...)

He also reminds me of the old He-man from the 80s Masters of The Universe, for some reason...(that reason may be 'cause they're both lame characters aimed at pubescent boys)

 

OT : Kratos is still WAY over-the-top, though, and not in the least a "deep" character. He's more of a maniac killer. He's completely lost it, and I wonder if we'll see another side of him in GOWIII. He does show some interesting "hints" at character development in PSP's Chains of Olympus.
