If they could do it right I wouldn't mind Fox McCloud being some super agent who is an ace pilot and who can handle himself like Sam Fisher, Solid Snake, James Bond or Jason Bourne in ground combat. I can't imagine him blasting away like Master Chief, but I can imagine him being stealthy and deadly.

However, based off of the actual quality of the games that they've done, I'd suggest that he stay his ass in an Arwing.

Arg...no offense, but Nintendo already had enough Bounty Hunter/Secdret Agent type characters.  I'd be happier if they kept him as he originaly was, a freelance vigilante type character trying to live up to his dads image.  If they turned him into that type of image, we'd have yet another 'bad ass gun wielding super spy' wannabe for Smash Bros.  Its bad enough with all the people fighting between Fox, Falco, Zero Suit Samus, Snake and Captain Falcon.....

Who is the secret agent and what are these "bad ass gun wielding super spy" game that Nintendo has too many of?  I'm talking about games, not characters for Smash Brothers.

NO, it should evolve into a better game maybe add leveling up buying ship parts, customized weapons, online play, and make it more complex if theirs any on foot action in campaign add level ups and make that part of the game the exact same thing as "fable" where you go on quests improve your skills, magic, and strength and buy weapons with a 40hour story unlike fables 12hour story.............starfox would be game of the year.......,..

if they are going the same way as before then make it a wiiware game cause it would be probably the best wiiware game made and that's what they should have did with punchout cause its just a good arcade game and it wasn't suppose to be on the same level as fight night rd4 but it was full retail just like FightnightRD4.............

Star fox should have stayed Star Fox.

The first two games are great.

The others, not so much...

So.... you don't want Star Fox to actually play anything like Star Fox, then.

if stealth and infiltration missions were well implemented they'd be more than welcome imo.  I think your worries about the character being modified aren't very logical, and neither is your reference to SSB.  It would be silly not to enhance a franchise only because it would create similar character types in another game, but even if that were a problem, fox already plays like a "bad ass gun weilding super spy" in SSB.

Uh...I was referencing the hypothetical 'what if' scenario you came up with for Fox.  Specifically "If they could do it right I wouldn't mind Fox McCloud being some super agent who is an ace pilot and who can handle himself like Sam Fisher, Solid Snake, James Bond or Jason Bourne in ground combat."

And I referenced Smash Bros because, hey, that's what he is in Smash Bros.....  And stated I'd like his character (not to mention the gameplay of Star Fox) to be different than 'Fox from Smash Bros'.  Which your example of 'a super agent like James Bond/Snake running and gunning' sounds exactly like.  As I said, I'd rather see his character return to a freelance vigilante who sticks to piloting a spaceship (or possibly other vehicles).

Six upcoming games you should look into:

Well, of course they should have lots of proper flying levels like in Star Fox 64. But to be honest, I've never understood the hate for Assault.

I wouldn't mind if Nintendo could implement stuff from Assault but make it more polished. As long as they keep the focus on the flying.

I want Starfox to remain a shooter, just with some more complexity. Like bombing missions where you have to support a convoy or epic space battles where you can command a squad of like 4 Arwings.
