Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Should Starfox stay only a Rail Shooter?

Title says it all, should Starfox stick to just being a rail shooter or keep the third-person shooter gameplay? Would help to explain why you disagree or not.

Or we can always have it this way again......................................................................................................................................

i for one liked the one on ds

had some strategy elements

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

Wii Friend Code: 4094-4604-1880-6889

I had a lot more fun in Starfox 64 than I did in any Starfox game thereafter.

So...

There you go.

Though Starfox is free to do whatever it wants, now that I'm getting Sin and Punishment 2!

Starfox 64 is a perfect template for the next Starfox game... some straight forward "on rails" levels mixed with some open fly-anywhere levels, and of course multiplayer. Perhaps the series could take a cue from the Rogue Squadron games as well with dynamic levels and mission-based objectives.

As long as Fox doesn't leave his vehicles, we'll be in good shape lol!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

I liked em all... but Star Fox 64 is the best

Starfox just needs to be developed by Nintendo again like the SNES and N64 versions were.

BETTER YET: GIVE IT TO RETRO STUDIOS.

They seem to have a talent for breathing new life into old great franchises.

I want Fox back in his airwing!!! Some Landmaster love would be appreciated too. And maybe a return for Slippy's submarine? REMAKE SF 64 lol

Adventures was ok but Assault sucked.

DS game sucked also.

So yes bring back the old Shooter style gameplay.

Just upgrade SF64's graphics and leave everything else the same.

Recent ones aren't as fun as when it was a rail shooter so I'm going with that.

There's S&P to compensate though, but it would be nice if they tried to go back to the original formula.

I am an abstract sort of creature, who dislikes any sort of restraint. If you try to pigeonhole me, I'll break the box, and come back for more. I don't have any particular ambitions, I just drift, but I am adept at keeping life going along.
