If they are playing MIDI-type sounds, it's just like what they did with the SMG1 demo. They hadn't got the orchestra to play it yet. If you go back and watch videos of the demo, there is a MIDI-style version of Good Egg Galaxy and a few others.

I'd like orchestration, but it's more important that the melodies are as good as the first game.
