The problem that Sony (and Microsoft) is facing is that they are introducing in the middle-to-late life cycle of a console a new input device that is, at its core, considered an anathema to gaming by many of those who purchased the console in the first place.
In other words, Sony (and Microsoft) expect many of the same PS3 (and Xbox 360) owners who have spent the last several years mocking the Wii's motion controls to spend $50 (or more) to purchase motion control devices for their consoles.
And Sony (and Microsoft) have to sell this product not only to consumers but to developers since they will be the ones making the software for motion control and have to profit from doing so.

I am Mario.I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble. Wii Friend Code: 1624 6601 1126 1492 NNID: Mike_INTV |

Wlhere is Mogantown
The handbags are definitely coming out again. There's going to be a lot of slagging going on in the run up to these new devices I reckon.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Natal is to the PS Eye just like what Arc is to the Wiimote. In other words, upgraded versions. |
Exactly.
What's interesting though is that Arc is not only an upgraded version of the Wiimote, in a way it's an upgraded version of the PS Eye as well.
I think he answered the questions pretty nicely tbh....and I think their approach is the better one between them and Natal.. Natal DOES sound exciting (heck I'm even doing a paper on it for a class) but I honestly don't think it will be implemented well.....
and games like LBP has already been announced to have Arc support right? I can only imagine the list will go higher and higher nearing E3 where is Natal don't have anything as impressive yet...maybe they will come up with a Halo:Reach Natal support or something....
I really want to see MadWorld on PS3 tho....and looks like the chances are good for that...such games just can't be implemented with Natal

If I'm not mistaken quite a few developers recent comments testify to the fact that it is in fact true....

Their motion wand has been in development since the eyetoy. So no, they did not copy nintendo. Copying would only count if they put out their own nunchuck along with the the wand. Which is something we have yet to see.
SONY stating Natal is a better approach. Now THAT would be news.
4 ≈ One
It's true the tech for Natal is outdated and it has already flopped once Sony would know, because it was their product only it was packaged as EyeToy. EyeToy failed because they couldn't do much with it. Sony knows people want a controller now and since they have the camera as well be ready for some 1 to 1 precision. Lets just hope Natal finds a way to work.
