Forums - Gaming Discussion - Should buyers of pre-owned titles be punished?

Can't say I'm convinced with your economic theory in this instance. Especially with the availability of pre-owned games and accessibility of pirated games. I would bet you that if all the torrent sites went down tomorrow that game sales would increase.

It's not "my economic theory."

It's economic theory in general.  As in the theory developed by economists.  The people who study the economy.

You can not be convinced about it... but it's currently the prevailing theory.  You may as well not be convinced the Big Bang happened.

Cool so sub-prime home loans and piracy is good for the economy.  Thanks economists!

Economists pretty much never thought sub-prime home loans were good for the economy.  That was mostly politicians.

You are the consumer. You do what is best for you. You dictate what the price should be.

Do not fall into the trap of having personal feelings for a company, it is the height of stupidity.
Companies will massage and manipulate you in every possible way, if you let them. Their sole responsibility is to the shareholders, not to you.

Fuck... I'm dead!

As long as it's legal and ensures the continuation and prosperity of the hobby that you love.

Yes, if you want to put a little, rosy bouquet on it, that too.

I am fairly sure the continuation and prosperity of video games has been ensured for the past 10 years.

vlad stop trying to justify being a pirate. I really do hope that you appreciate the 'ignorant saps' you rely on to support your hobby for you.

I recently bought Assassins Creed2 for my 360 which cost me around $56 just 4 dollars less than full price

So I fail to see how they didnt make back the money

Please stop supporting cut-throat practices and businesses and not support change in business models in line with modern technology.
