It's economic theory in general.  As in the theory developed by economists.  The people who study the economy.

 

You can not be convinced about it... but it's currently the prevailing theory.  You may as well not be convinced the Big Bang happened.

Economists pretty much never thought sub-prime home loans were good for the economy.  That was mostly politicians.
