It may be the sound. MGS4's disk was maxed out not because of the cutscenes which is a popular misconception but because of the uncompressed sound.

Not sure if this is the case with GoW3, but I can't imagine this type of game being so long as to warrant that kind of space. The graphics are incredible but so they are in UC2 and KZ2 and neither of them, to my knowledge utilized this amount of space.

I don't know , but they refered to "TITAN'S" AS MOVABLE LEVEL'S

with the quality of those TITAN'S there is alot to them movable hair, skin textures of each TiTTAN and some of those TITAN'S ARE QUITE LARGE!

Yeah it sounds pretty bad ass but we'll have to see how that works out in practice. But still, I don't think the Titans would fill up 35 GB's. They're essentially just moving environments, but environments nonetheless. I don't think more texture work would go into them than any other.

in as far as we know they would not but if you take a look at some of the TITAN's , the one's that we have seen sofar, they all have unique art Asset's to each, OF THE TITANS we have seen sofar, dynamic physic's .bases on parts of the TITAN, part's of the TITAN may have unique properties and how your interaction can change its effect's in the enviroment on how the TITAN may interact within the enviroment itself based on your choice not just in control, but the time you have control of the TITAN itself, where you are at on the TITAN itself. etc.

there is just so little information on how they at santa monica in how the  constructed each Asset. for God of War III that it's just what they have shown sofa in my opinion look's fantastic. even though I am not the most hardcore fan of God of War series i can still see the acomplishment they hace doe with each God of War sofar. ps2, psp, and now the PS3 .

You will be needing PCSX2 r2421 to play.. Get it from here:

Im not obviously going to post links.

So God of War 1 can be played with 190MB of data and they are expecting me to believe that God of War 3 *requires* 35GB? Im calling bulllllshit. The moment they offer this for direct download im betting it'll be under 10GB.

Where did it say it requires it? It just uses that data

@ Pk9394

Disk space dont mean jack shit, they multiply the data for faster loading and uncompressed audio.

No, not for linear games.

I know there was some mass misinformation spread by fans regarding Oblivion on the PS3, an open world game. It used data duplication as it makes sense for limiting reading lens movements. Sadly the developers clarification that they used the same technique on the XBox 360 DVD got less coverage. When you have so much space available on a Blu-Ray disc, why not utilize it to the consumer's advantage like that?

1. You can't over exaggerate

2. It is not an exaggeration, the quote in the title just says there is 35GBs being used

  Pfft, ignorance.

"Blu-ray was indispensable to achieve the graphic quality of Uncharted. We fill the disc at 91 percent and it's optimized, meaning we don't duplicate any data. That includes all our game data, sounds, 7 spoken languages and 102 minutes of movie."

Only lazy 3rd-parties don't optimize.

Yes, ignorance but read my prior posting.

Strategic data duplication is a form of optimization for open world games, utilized for both XBox 360 and PS3 discs.

LBP? Really? I couldn't imagine that being true... Most of the content in LBP is just an appetizer to what can be done using the level editor.

Well, LBP is full to the brim with HD video for the tutorials, so they probably took up most of the space.

OT: I wonder how they plan on using all that space o.O

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Does that work? And how well?

Chain of Olympus on the PSN is 1.3GB and the smallest Rip of the game I can find is 500MB.

@LBP Comment

Media Molecule stated that the game was 40GB but this was due to the huge amount of tutorial videos.
