DVD actually became popular, Bluray not so much.
Why are people comparing DS with PS2? The Ops original post stated that "the PS2 will remain the best selling console." The Op didn't say anything about a handheld. The DS is the best selling handheld--to date, but it should not be compared to a console.
Anyone who keeps comparing the two in this thread is just a troll that wants to instill an argument that was never in the core of what the OP intended.

Looks like neither of you know what a "console" is. PS2 is a HOME console and DS is a HANDHELD console which means they are very comparable, since all he said was "best selling console."

No it doesn't, it makes the PS2 look like it sold like crap lol. What the PS2 did in 12 years is what the DS did in like 7 years. On top of that Ninty doesn't even have it released in as many countries making the PS2 look like even more of a bad seller. What exactly looks more impressive about the PS2 when compared to the DS?
