Ain't gonna happen. Not an Iraqi like war though. I've seen Generation Kill just now, I doubt the US army is up for another likewise strike.

First of all, current US government's policies seem to be adverse from more war. Secondly, Rath's post was pretty intelligent - if anything the US will provoke or support a revolution.

Israel is the biggest bet but altough they can easily take on Iran, direct war might leave their forces stretched thin and other nations are still waiting for their chance to wipe Israel of the map. Open warfare will most likely agitate all the hives around them.
Plus, don't expect too much help from the UN. Germany, the UK, France, they are all still pissed of about the passport-debacle.

I am glad you asked that question. On the surface, Iran's ADA would seem to be 'good', but:

  2. What Iran has now is mostly 1970's technology which would be useless against an Israeli strike (think Gulf War)

Very informative. It indeed seems like everyone will just play the sideline game with Israel then. Let them handle it, and maybe even extract deals from Israel to "overlook" the transgression.

Does everyone remember the huge international and Middle Eastern condemnation that happened when Israel bombed Syria's nuclear project?

If Israel bombs Iranian nuclear facilities the world won't give a shit, in fact it would very likely be considered an entirely legal move under the same law used to justify invading Iraq (except in this case it actually holds true). A nuclear armed Iran would be a direct and imminent threat to Israel.

If anyone so much as attacks Iran from the outside, things will go down the shitter very very fast, and is probably one of the most undesireable consequences.

The problem is... Iran has supposed to have been collapsing under internal pressure for the last... 15 years or so.

Everytime it looks like something is goin to happen the west waits with baited breath... then nothing.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that the US invade Iran.

Also, it would be appreciated if you provided alternatives and suggestions in opposition with an attack on Iran.

I don't think they have been trying hard enough. Couldn't help adding the jab though, it was just too easy.
