So many people read these comments from publishers and sit back and laugh, "hahaha you are so doomed for not supporting the Wii, I can't wait for you to go out of business! hahaha" They are not going to stop supporting the Wii, and that is not what THQ is saying, they are saying that they are going to make their games to cater to audience that has been proven on the Wii.

So you can sit and say that they are going to fail for not making core games, but how are they failing when they are losing money on core games and they are now going to focus more on the games that have been generating them profit?

My thoughts exactly.

If I want a hardcore game I have a HD console for that but generally, I prefer fun games on Wii.

fun games in what context? I find core games to be fun, I find shooters to be fun, gory games to be fun. Hell, I have never played any of the Petz games, but obviously, to someone, these games are fun. Also, I'm willing to bet that Petz actually is pretty fun if you sat down and played it, how many times have you played a game that you almost hated yourself for liking? it comes down to: is this game worth my money? You could play Petz and have fun, but is it worth your money? Probably not.

People like us, posting on forums, generally listen to reviews on games we are unsure of. Does a reviewer give the game a 10 out of 10, 9 out of 10, 8 out of 10, 7, 6, or 5 out of 10 because the game is fun? Look at everything that they look for in a review. People have tons of fun with the mini game compilations. I had a blast playing Guinness World Records. But if a publisher said they were releasing this over a flagship core game for the Wii everyone would be up in flames. But if it comes down to fun, then everyone should be happy that they are getting Guinness World Records

Resident Evil is ofcourse a no brainer after how 4 did.

If it is such a no brainer, then why haven't we seen it yet?  All we get are spin offs.

We can't do much, but wait for them to go bankrupt and replaced by developers and publishers who cares for gamers. Hopefully a few of the big name publishers like Sega make the transition, but with decisions like forcing HVS to go multiplatform with The Grinder and episodic Sonic the Hedgehog, I'm doubtful they can salvage themselves.

"why should you care about the industry? you care about games coming to your precious wii, stop being such a hypocrite, buy an HD console if you want those games"

How about it's principle, not whether we want them for ourselves.

Not to mention money.  This "buy an HD console" argument is one of the most idiotic things this gen.  Why do these people think everyone can rush out and buy all three consoles??  I already work two jobs.  Maybe I should get rid of a kid?  Or make my 6 year old get a job?

But those are being base on other opinions of the game. Guess what, that's how I'm basing FFXIII is not that good of a game in terms of being a game. From what's indicated in all accounts, even from those that like it, the flow of the game turns out it's all about being flashy, with just some gameplay as padding between the cutscenes. And even though there are battles, it's more about being flashy as well, hence the faster battle flow.

You can think that, if you want. Your opinion and all. Even if you haven't played it.

I only brought Mario into it to shut milkyjoe up. He is basing his points from reviews, i can do the exact same thing for Ninty + Mario.

but you do realise a lot of game critics are 3d whores? some reviews knocked it for being a 2d game. Same thing happened with GTA on DS. Reviewers didn't like it cause it was 2D top view. Everyone said that oh GTA sold like shit cause the audience was not there. Guess what it did worst on PSP? where 3D gta games sold millions.

In final fantasy case lots of japanese didn't like it cause of the new direction of no towns and how it flowed

but like who really cares about mario or ff here.

The point here is 3rd party developers treat the Wii like shit. Then complain when games dont sell. how can they expect crap to sell? Even Nintendo has made crap like day of crisis or whatever it was called. That shitty game never sold. So devs can't say Nintendo only games sell, when the fact is only decent quality games sell.

They have no marketing.

They are sloppy made.

or They make some on rails crap no one wants.

Like RE4 a (4year old game) sold MUCH better than the other RE games because it wasn't on rails and it ACTUALLY WORKED GREAT with the Wii Remote. It does not take a genious to work out that another RE game in RE4 style would sell.

I thought NSMBWii was hammered for being "too much of the same", Nintendo being lazy and such. Which means, the series stays true to what it has been. Can't say that for FF though; you should make up YOUR minds.

I now treat the games industry like I treat my government, which, as summed up by the late great George Carlin, "I don't listen to a goddamn thing they tell me."

And that includes most mainstream game review sites.
