Forums - Nintendo - Just got Ace attorney ;Miles Edgeworth.....impressions.

Just got this game and I finished the first case so I thought I would drop my impressions.....

Now although it felt like the first case was a tutorial and was real easy to solve even before you got to control edgeworth the new mechanics and the new pacing is really something to behold and (I hope) it will be implemented better in the other 4 cases.

Logic system.

The logic system uses two hypothesis or questions(or a combination of both) edgeworth accumelates throughout the case and combines them to get a clearer picture of the case....now the really interesting thing is (as edgeworth said) is that you can be comepletly on the wrong track with your logic as they are your opinions.....the possibility of diverging storylines (and an early game over screen) is something I will be looking for when playing the other cases.

Pacing.

This is based on the first case mind you but the pacing in that case alone was fantastic....I somewhat felt like it was tedious when looking for evidence in the last 4 games in the series and how key pieces of evidence was only availiable on certain days of the case.....in this game however ,judging from the first case, it seems like everything you need is right in the crimescene and it just takes your logical skills with the evidence to find the truth faster.

Overall Im loving this game so far and im planning to do a case a day....so sometime next week ill give my full impressions.

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

Glad to hear you like it, can't wait to buy it.

Is Edgeworth as awesome as he was in the other games? Is Kay annoying or is she more Maya- like?

Havent seen Kay yet....all the people that were involved in the first case were Gumshoe (God this guy is fucking funny) and Maggy (and yes her luck still sucks)

So that's how the Logic system works? Good to know that you can make the wrong choice and follow the wrong lead. I can't wait to play this game because I love the series and this time I will play as a prosecutor (which is a big deal for me because I will be a prosecutor in real life).

Thank you! I hope there will be more impressions.

The demo is available on the Nintendo Channel in the US and Europe, if anyone is looking for a taster.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Aren't those both the same thing?

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
