When did Iwata say Pikmin RPG was in development for DS (handheld?)
To me, the franchise for launching would be Kirby -- since the pink puffer ball is their (unofficial) handheld mascot.

I take you meant Pokemon, or you were joking. My first post in the thread. Also here.

I'd like to introduce you to another new Pokémon title, which should become one of the most anticipated Nintendo DS titles for this year. The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo have been developing a new Pokémon title with the aim to launch the software this year.

The cumulative global sales of all the Pokémon series software have reached 130 million. This new Pokémon software will become the first brand new Pokémon title in 4 years since Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, which sold more than 5.8 million units in Japan, was launched.

Of course, this totally new Pokémon title will include new fields of adventure and a number of new Pokémons living there. As a totally new version, it will contain various unprecedented experiences.

Naw, I think it'll be base DS with DSi options/compatibility. Pokemon G/S/C came right before/during GBA, I think it's be the same for Gen 5 and DS2.

Anyways, Pokemon Gen 5 will be on the DS. If a DS2 is to be announced this year, it probably won't release until Fall 2011, which wouldn't be too unreasonable, but why kill off such a successful console when it still sells 30m/year. When it drops closer to 15m a year I could see them putting out some new hardware, but it won't be this year.




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
